Jennifer, awesome summary video. We moved to Moncton 6 months ago and run a digital marketing agency. We sold our businesses in the US and moved back to Canada, we are just a small firm right now, but one day we'll look at hiring in New Brunswick.

Did you say robust? LOL. NB total population is 3/4 of a million. With that we have unemployment rate of around 10% (more true than the 'official" figure). Want a job at dollar stores, walmart or as a janitor? Moncton's the place for you! Good jobs are hard to come by. If you move here, try to get secure employment BEFORE you move here. Otherwise, well I warned you. Many Many Many people are moving to NB only to find out why it has such a low population. Listen to me now and believe me later. Oh and mining in Bathurst? It was all shut down in the 90s. Oh yeah and long wait times in hospitals? We had people die in the emergency waiting room in the past few years. The government is earning surplus budgets by letting people die in hospital waiting rooms. Please move to NB it's the picture province!

Thank you Perfectly send. People need to hear the truth They move out here, sell their house from a different province only to find that we have very low wages, and now you will not be able to sell your house For enough to move back if you decide you don't like it out here. People really need to do their homework first before deciding to make the move. Not only take advice from a real estate salesperson. They need to take advice from the people who are not trying to make a commission. And not trying to mislead people getting their hopes up

NOT GOOD TO MOVE THERE: New Brunswick has alot of problems that's why the homes are so cheap. 1) There is a huge problem with spraying the forests with toxic chemicals.2) They have the biggest radon problem in Canada. They have the highest death rate of cancer. 3. Its hard to make money. Alot of people from Ontario are moving back just a fast as they are going there.4) They had a mysterious neurological brain disease that cropped up a few years ago that is paralyzing people. They dont know what is causing it. Some died from it. It may not be the best choice to relocate to.

Wages are low here in new brunswick, taxes are high 15% , Healthcare, hospitals wait times, most people have been waiting 5+ years for a family doctor, and houses are now way over priced Do your homework before deciding to make the move to new brunswick Most retail places don't even pay $15 an hour

Please do your research before moving to Moncton for job opportunities - good jobs are scarce and the competition is fierce - you will also struggle if you are not bilingual. On paper it looks good, in reality it's a tough job market. Obviously it will depend a bit on what you want to do and where in the city you live, but I would say it's a must to be bilingual in Moncton if you are competing on the open market for a good job.

This myth « a must to be bilingual » to get a good job has never been true , is not true and will never be true. I have lived here all my life , am impeccably bilingual and have always known that most Monctonians work and live in English all day , every day of the year. The best private sector management jobs require no bilingualism… the best public sector jobs require no bilingualism if you’re not dealing directly with the public. If and when you hear French being spoken it is generally between a French speaking staff member and a French speaking customer. Most of the posh residential areas are inhabited by unilingual anglophones who’ve never spoken a word of French in their lives. A lot of complaints about language are from folks who are either unqualified or straight up unsuitable because of “deal breaking” character flaws. You can’t fool me. Not true.
