This expert points out that JA saying "I'd rather die" is the ultimate convincing statement...I agree and it really is no different than the time(s) she told the jury she was planning to be dead, or commit suicide. It is a ploy to be convincing, and it is also a ploy to garner sympathy. She is not a "good" liar, or she doesn't pull it off (as planned...or premeditated), she just has mass, or sheer volume. It is as though she is addicted to lying. It's all interwoven with absolute evil ...I think anyway!

What he was saying is ... that no INNOCENT person would make such a statement, to begin with. Meaning ... "IT" knows that "IT" is guilty as sin and DESERVES the maximum sentence and thus IS NOT PROTESTING the verdict like an ACTUAL innocent person WOULD. He was exactly CORRECT (meaning everything coming out of ITS pie hole is a lie).

Her Mother would have been cross-examined as to the "abuse" to her daughter that was alleged when Inmate P458434 FIRST took the stand to the 180 at the end where her Mother was "just a saint and that Inmate P458434 didn't deserve her." After that, the "forged/phony/fake" pedophile letters that Inmate P458434's Mother tried to SELL to the National Enquirer would be brought up. THAT is the REAL REASON why there was NO WAY that Inmate P458434's Mother was EVER going to take the stand.

That's the whole point about this interview (thanks for uploading it). Most people wouldn't react rationally and that's what the expert is saying. He said that most people would be worried, stressed, saying they didn't do it -- not being so calm, reserved, and calculated in their responses. I'll give you that there's not necessarily a "correct" way to respond, but the whole point of having an expert -- and one that was a government level deception analyst -- is they see things we may miss.

Jodi Arias believed that she was smarter then the jurors so she was shocked by the out come. During that pathetic interview, it was insulting to see her try to act like she had any emotions. I really don't know what is in the heads of those people who believe that she is actually a victim. The only thing I can say to those who believe her story is, I guess she is smarter than some people.

That had to do with an interview in late 2008, not the post-verdict one in 2013 (which THIS expert is referencing). That was also just another LIE (big surprise), nothing more. The duhfense has been bringing motions like this since 2010, so it's no surprise the attempts (always shot-down) continue - even until the last possible date. Everyone knows this was just another part of the "smear campaign" so that IT could continue slandering and trashing TA and putting his family through more grief.

it's actually more expensive to put someone on death row. the legal cost of that complex judicial process, enhanced security, and legal representation. Death penalty trials cost around 10 million dollars to carry out.
I think her "overwhelmed" statement is about truest thing she has said. She's overwhelmed because she cannot believe the jury didn't buy her story. She put so much work and acting into it and they didn't buy it and everyone in her past has fallen for her lies and self pity so why didn't the jury. If she's overwhelmed at anything it's that.

Well I do know that it's ridiculous to expect that people react rationally and logically in all circumstances. The human brain does not always work that way. People are complex and for anyone to be suggesting that there is a natural reaction to being convicted of M1 isn't all that credible in my mind. Who cares if she is telling the truth or not at this point. The jury should not be considering her wishes one way or another in deciding the appropriate punishment.

She actually didn't expect to be charged with premeditation...that's a lie. How superior she must really think she is. Her biggest problem is that she is so transparent and we are all at least a step ahead of her because every word out of her mouth is deception. Travis' murder was premeditated, just like her plan to be interviewded by the News post-verdict...She plans ahead a lot, but they have all been backfiring on her.

Most people have fortunately not been in the position to know what their reaction would be if they were found guilty of first degree murder and faced the death penalty. I am no fan of Jodi Arias but I don't find his analysis necessarily convincing. There is no "right" response to being found guilty of M1.

It sounds like we agree but you want to play games with semantics. She isn't innocent so that is why she would make a statement like that. My quibble is I didn't feel she was "taking a step." I felt it was another manipulation. Maybe I misunderstood what he was saying but to me "taking a step" means she is moving towards something positive and I didn't feel that way about it just because she didn't protest the verdict. It's just my opinion and what I heard him saying.
