My friends invited me to go with them but I had to work one more week at my summer job and it would also cost me a week's pay to go. They went and I figured it was no big deal. Funny thing is, "Woodstock" wasn't a thing until it happened. Everybody figured it would be a little folk/rock/arts & crafts festival in upstate New York. A week later, the entire nation watched it on TV. Since then, I watched the movies a million times. A lot of groups besides Joe Cocker also got there start there. I was 19 in 1969.

Remembering Joe Cocker on his birth date; May 20th. After growing up in the ‘50s and early ‘60s listening to mostly Rhythm & Blues music, I heard The Beatles for the first time and it sounded like meaningless garble. I love the sound of a Hammond B3 and a couple of 147RV Leslie's! That sound can never be imitated!!! When he hits the Leslie Horn switch to spin fast and then slow ... I can feel it in my Bones!!!

I'm a huge beatles fan, and this is the first time I ever hear Joe Cockers version! I'm almost ashamed to say I've never heard of this man before, and it took all but 30 seconds before my eyes watered up from this version. I'm amased, for me this is the only beatles song that has ever been improved by another artist, and I'm truly impressed! Rest in Peace, and I promise I will make shure to discover more of your music.

In Paul McCartney's own words "he totally turned the song into a soul anthem, and I was forever grateful for him for doing that"

Has to be one of the greatest performances. The backup singers were just F awesome and really brought out the depth. Kudos and hope I see these ladies singing again soon.

It seems Monsieur Joe Cocker left us with an even greater performance of a Little Help from my Friends than the Woodstock one. This would have to be one of the greatest performances of all time.

It's so moving watching this. Joe, as good as ever, nailing this song and owning the stage 45 years after the original version. The voice and timing still absolutely brilliant. Thanks for all the great music Joe. RIP.

I was a low light b/w photographer back in the 60-70’s. I had to hold the camera as steady as a sniper; in-between very hard swallows. The sound engulfed me and changed me.

All I can add in is "Thank You!" for posting this version of this timeless wonderful song - I listen and watched it quite a few times, each time "seeing" new nuances which previously escaped me.
