I can imagine Joe E. Brown voicing the Genie in Aladdin if it were a Disney Silver-Age Era film.

I just watched "Some Like It Hot" and was riveted by his performance and immediately did an online search on him This wonderful video popped up. Thanks for sharing this. Awesome. Love and light from Nairobi, Kenya.

I do this routine for my Dad and Brother every now and then. I got his voice down perfect. It always gives them a good laugh. Makes me wish I could meet Joe E. Brown in real life. Dude was hilarious!

Joe E. Brown started out in the circus world, then moved to films. He's most famous for his great role in Some like it Hot, where he had the last line in the movie, and most famous 'well, nobody's perfect'

Most people's mouths are as wide as their pupils are to each other. Joe's is as wide as the corners of his eyes. This is why he seems different. He must've been teased all through his childhood and even beyond. .

Uh, jsilence 418 doesn't know what he's talking about in his comment. No, that's not the way 'they' talked in those days. And no, that's not Joe E. Brown's normal voice at all. I recommend you see the movie Some like it hot.........and he as the very last famous line of the movie 'well, nobody's perfect'. In that movie was his real voice. Never heard him do this voice, or bit. Must've been hard, it's nothing like his real voice

no he certainly wasnt. Although admittedly comedy was considerably broader in those days, evolving from the silents and vaudeville.

Imagine people going to see "talkies." It was exactly like your (grand)parents getting online for the first time. Comedy was born on the stage and it translated to the talkies. It was very innocent by our standards (some wishing it would come back.) I remember re-runs of movies in the 60's so this is just a remanence of my childhood. It was also my gparents humor too. They were married in 1928 - before talkies.

Just watched two of his films here on youtube. The Earthworm Tractors and Riding on Air. The stunt work in these films is insane. Earthworm is the better film, but it's not just better. It's insanely great.
