I didn't even know that this was in a movie until I looked it up and notices that it was, so I guess I have to watch the movie now
I’m 27 years old, and it’s crazy to think that this man’s music has been in my life for 20 years now. Even before I knew his name, the score of every Studio Ghibli film I would watch as a child moved me, and it instilled a passion that later caused me to go to school for music. Still to this day, I feel the same as if I’m a 7 year old child listening to his work for the first time.

Every time I hear he’s songs I feel like I lived another life full of story’s and different emotions
A lot of people don’t know that before Ghibli, Joe Hisaishi would compose for other directors such as Kitano. And this is a theme from the film with the same name, Hana-Bi. At this time he made this, he had already composed for Miyazaki films such as Nausicaä and Castle in the Sky. But still, you could truly say he always had that talent within him, even before he would go on to create profound masterpieces for Ghibli and Miyazaki.

@@kutzak236 Yeah I am aware, like I said he composed Nausicaä and Castle in the Sky before Kitano, but what I am saying here that this is also at a time where he didn’t reach his fame to his entirety and this was still the beginning of the career. He has had a constant talent since the beginning.

Joe Hisaishi is an absolute genius. I have been listening to his music ever since 4 years ago. Since then, every single piece of his music has become my favorite. I don't know why but I feel a strange sense of nostalgia for sthg that never happened when listening to it.
When I was 12, I remember taking long bike rides with my discman listening to Joe Hisaishi 'best of' albums. I'm pretty sure I'm now a composer because of those Hisaishi-scored bike adventures.
