Been studying inversions for a while now and this is gold! 6:13 Don’t mind me just bookmarking 🔖 for reference. Why should piano players have all the inversions? 😉🎹💪🏼 Barry Harris opened up my piano playing and guitar playing so much with his 6th diminished concept and this like icing on the cake. A musical necessity! 🙏🏼 Thank you maestro.

Great little progression around FM7. I always forget the nice flavor of the 6/9 chord! And that xx7968 ( 3 M7 R 5) major 7th will take a lot of practice to grab at that speed. My left had ring finger isn't very smart! He needs to go to the gym and work out. Plus all the extra side distractions remind me there is a lot more stuff to study. Funky strumming, slapping, and walking bass. It's going to take a while to sort through it all! I'm especially interested in walking bass, maybe with rhythm changes A and B sections or 1625 or 1645 or 3625. I'll do a search on your channel to see if you've already covered it.

That voicing is beautiful but not easy to play fast so I replaced with 69 voicing. Thanks for sharing! So much distractions in this video!

Hi Tomo, Thanks for the answer to my question about the 7th inversions - i am now picking out the chords and intervals! thanks a lot. What do you mean when you say a chord is "not useful"? i kind of feel like it sounds maybe a little boring to my ears for some reason but is there a deeper reasoning on why you prefer the maj 9/ root position ? I have noticed that the 7th as the lowest note in the chord does not really "feel right" when exploring chordshapes.

You're very welcome! I love reading all these comments. Good job! One voicing is not so useful = not sounding so musical. Thats why once you have learned basic theory... you can add or change a little ... just like "Cooking" I don't like cucumber! Thank you so much!
