After listening to Peterson for a year or so, I moved back in with my parents. I helped my mom get her health on track (she goes to the gym every morning now) and I started bringing my dad back to Church (his mom just died and she was Roman Catholic, but I'm an Atheist). I decided to take responsibility for my family. I decided to do everything in my power to help them be happy and healthy in their older years -- and I've never been happier.

@Gasta1983
3 жыл бұрын
@garin fl, Ghandi might be racist from modern point of view, but back then the forces he challenged were even more racist and ruthless, and he contributed more to the antiracist movements. Jordan says you need to learn to be cruel to bullies. And the bullies were the Britts. Although he was not half as cruel as he could have been and had his demons in tact. Given the amount power he had. And he also has inspired a "martial art" that gave hope to weaker nations against more evil and more powerfull enemies, and kicked the British government's ass without being even as half as violent compared to UK government. No one questions Gandhi's incandescent influence on the world stage; his philosophy of nonviolent resistance inspired Martin Luther King, Jr., Nelson Mandela, and the Dalai Lama. Your juvenile jabs about my spelling are irrelevant, you acting, like English is the default language for everyone, I could well be a foreigner to English language, whose knowledge is being built through a different language. You probably know by know, that neither misspelling something, nor that some people see him only as a racist (Just like some see J. P. as a transphobic piece of shit) does not disprove the granditude of their persona, thus any of my statements about their resemblance. You are simply bored, looking for someone to argue I guess. Anyway, I don't care who you idolize or demonize. That is just a subjective matter of choice. But the extent to which they influence on people's lives is more measureble. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to clean my room or do something that really adds value to my life, rather than indulging in futile attempts to be judgemental about a historical persona, who has been and is long out of my competence. You have a good day too.
@Gasta1983
3 жыл бұрын
@garin fl no, I don't think Gandhi was worse than J. P. I don't understand what are you trying to accomplish by your ad hominem fallacies. It might come as a complete surprise to many people, but history is not about originality of ideas, fiction is. However, if it bothers you, I copied and imbedded just a short sentence that represents the same idea that I've already been expressing since the very beginning, and only the part with the names to avoid misspelling them unintentionally in my 3d foreign language. Anyone with a de-repressing attitude can see that. It might be more useful if we both stop it here, given that the subject of the argument is quite subjective in its own nature. The time you and I are spending on massaging our points that have already been made clear over and over, making it more personal than it is, would just be a waste of time and breath. No matter how we fight with the global heritage of Gandhi on internet, that will not change our own lives. That is simply does not lie within our competence, and instead of making personal attacks, we might as well focus on our own insecurities and deal with our own problems, and concentrate on positive things these grandious figures share, rather than something they might not agree on. That would be something J. P. would want us to do instead of avoiding real problems at a smallscale by taking pseudo-moralistic stances at a large sociological scale. Cheers to you, brother!

I'm 39. My dad died last June. It was unexpected. 7 months later my brother drank himself to death. There are so many things I wish I'd said or done. Don't waste time. It's more precious than you think.

Seeing stuff like this makes me really hopeful for the future and quite happy even though I am normally cynical and depressed. What we are seeing here is a man feeling the strong emotions associated with the ultimate "making it". He developed himself as a young man, built a family as a middle aged man, is now a grandfather in his older age but beyond all this he is helping hundreds of thousands, probably millions of people globally with his work as a public figure. He is at the final stage man, he cleaned his room , made his house beautiful, participated in the community, carried his responsibility in the politics of his country and through his work influenced otherwise aimless or broken people globally for the better, making the reach of his positive actions echo trough out all of mankind's sphere of influence. This is all the power of a single man doing what he thinks is right and it must feel pretty great to see that it's working.

Jordan Peterson is correct. Any problem is solved by understanding the fundamentals of the problem. The individual is the starting point of a family, a community and a nation. We as a nation are a moving machine, if any part of a machine no matter how minuscule it is has an issue... this will stop a nation from moving forward and thus prohibiting us from creating so much prosperity. We have been bombarded with false hopes and dreams, that a majority of people are feeling left out and bitter and resentful. This is stopping our nation, if not our entire world from achieving greatness. The individual is the building block to solve the nations problems, the communities problems and the families problems, one must look at what is causing the individual these problems in order to solve the greater problems everyone else is facing.
