@@TruthAplomado for me, defining yourself is when you do something so often, so that its a part of your lifestyle, making it so much of a part of you that people think of that when they think of you. Like people who drink and smoke all day, thats what they're known for. If you spend every day training for a fight then they'll think of you as a fighter.

Best way is to give yourself a date e.g. I'm going to stop Every thing at the start of next month or next week etc. But you need a hobby to keep you occupied once you do stop all the bad things otherwise you won't have anything to look forward to. For a lot of people that hobby can be a combat sport.

Want to know the secret to achieving what you want to achieve? It's really simple, 4 words, *JUST FUCKING DO IT* . When your mind starts to bring up "But this.. but that.." you say NO, and JUST FUCKING DO IT. You will retrain your mind in time. The mind doesn't care about what you say, it will obey commands.. so if you say to yourself "I can't do that", then you WON'T.. but if you say "I'm going to do ____"... your mind will look for the solutions. Do not listen to the naysayers, they are projecting their misery onto you and YOU are better than that.

In regards to Matt and his past struggles with substances, I suppose it's better to have been a drug addict and then become a successufl fighter, which is the stark contrast to the image of the successful fighter who had it all and lost it to substances.
