Little bit of story time. I am a music producer and in August 2019 I was in Las Vegas for a session with an artist of mine, and I had been there for a few weeks, and so I split up my time staying at a house of a friends and then stayed in a hotel because of the fact that I needed some peace. Well I am waiting to check in, after being dropped off, and in this waiting lobby waiting to be checked in, checking my phone, and I look up to see someone walking through the door and it was none other than Sylvester Stallone and his wife. My eyes nearly popped out of my head and I was texting with my aunt and said Aunt Patsy, I just saw Sylvester Stallone in the lobby coming in! SO I took a picture and he saw me and what struck me was that there were people trying to help him get his suitcases out but he kept on opening up the door and coming back in and out and helped those guys out, and he actually came over and smiled, said hello and asked if I had taken a picture because I was a fan or a family member was a fan and I said both, I just sent a picture of you walking in to my aunt whose a huge fan of yours. So he asked me for my phone, took a selfie and sent it to my aunt and then went on his way, and I never saw him again but Sly was one of the most decent humble people I've ever interacted with, and a pure class act.

He didn't steal it as he had it rolling around in his head since '73 or so. But when he saw the fight between Ali and Chuck Wepner, that cemented that his idea could possibly happen and got him to fleshing it out as a story. Also, keep in mind the first "Rocky" is a love story, not a boxing movie. Boxing is a secondary part of that first film. "Rocky" is all Stallone's creation.

He has been underrated before without a doubt and even more so by younger generations. ANYONE who grew up during the 80s and 90s wanted to watch ANY movie he was in when it released. Not everyone knew about his artistic abilities. How many people for the longest time even knew he wrote Rocky.. The kids today even those in their 20s have had the luxury for most their lives of Internet and smart phones. These types of things during that period were unknown. We didn't have multi sources of info. Growing up we only had a few local channels to watch until I was around 12 when we got cable, which is still nothing like today. Going to a movie rental store was special. I understand exactly what you're saying. He was mainly viewed as the super badass action star and most never gave thought to how smart and talented he was. Cliffhanger, demolition man, over the top, Tango&Cash, assassins, cobra etc. All great movies that I can still watch multiple times.

@LadyGaGa is hot who the fuck said that was the reason for life? You're making shit up now. The fact is life can be incredibly tough at times especially for those of us not born with a silver spoon in our mouths, the way we take these lows and keep moving forward determines what type of characters we are. I personally have been through very hard times in my life, which to be honest are probably beyond your comprehension but have so far managed to pick myself up and move on. If that's not been your story so far then I hope your luck continues.

I had the honor of meeting him. The first thing that struck me was how HUGE he was! I never thought he was that tall... Nearing 7 feet! He never looked so big beside other wrestlers. His hand engulfed mine completely. The other thing was his kindness. He didn't just let me shake his hand and move on, he kept me there with him and Jake the Snake, and they talked to me for nearly 10 minutes. I am with ya guys. Always been active and am 43 now, but this past October I decided to go full throttle and see how far I could go with lifting. Monday, Wednesday and Friday I am up at 4am, at the gym by 5am, lifting by 5:03 and hit the showers by 6:05. I also started cutting out shit like sugar, salt and bad carbs and haven't been in better shape, even when I was in high school playing sports on a regular basis. Helps too that I quit drinking almost 8 years ago as well. Keep at it fellas because I truly feel we get better with age, especially when we take care of ourselves. Sly has always been a big inspiration and helped provide me with that extra boost to take care of myself.

I think sly is who he is through adversity, tough times make you appreciate things more. His back story is truly inspiring, having been to the places where everyday people have been helps his films to relate to the audience. He does the underdog really well, take for example lock up and first blood. Obviously rocky is a character that resonates with everyone but I think my fav movie other than rocky is first blood.

He's a legend and it's a shame he's never really been respected by Hollywood as a "serious" actor because in certain movies he puts on such an emotional performance. @thegentlelivingchannel

He was amazing in Copland. Part of the issue with Hollywood and Stallone was that when he first made it, he didn't play ball the way you're supposed to. He didn't wear a tux to the Oscars, he didn't say the things or act the way you're supposed to and it started things out on a very wrong foot. They never really let him back into the "club" after that, no matter how much money he made for them.
