It's because Ortiz was the first boxer with great technique (for a heavyweight) to fight with Wilder, and the fight happened already wayyy to late for Ortiz. Tyson Fury said multiple times, as did Wilder that this is the biggest challenge of their careers. But Fury went through this before, winning against Klitschko and all that. Wilder didn't fight the Ukrainian (former) heavyweight title holder of the world all that time. He chose slightly less challenging adversaries, with slow movement and less than great technique. We'll see, I'm impressed by how Fury's changed though, used to heavily dislike his personality and behaviour couple years back, glad to see him differently.

I saw that from the first chisora fight and the Steve Cunningham fight. @@ItsXpensive lol Wilder is one of the most overhyped boxers in history. He's a literal one-trick pony with 40 tomato can wins. Usyk is on another level to Wilder. You're just fooled that Fury is unstoppable because Wilder is that bad at boxing. There's a reason Fury took 3 fights with Wilder and it ain't cause he was scared of him. That was 3 easy pay days for Fury. Outside of those four knockdowns (when he exposed himself a little too much) he dominated Wilder easily. Fury hasn't defended his titles enough and has been very inactive with an unimpressive record so far at heavyweight and is nowhere near all-time great status yet. I hear him already talking bout retirement and trying to avoid a Whyte fight, this is not how real Champions act.

@Byorin
5 жыл бұрын
Depends on the beard, I think. The great Sugar Ray Leonard admitted that Roberto Duran used his rough beard to scrape Leonard's face when they would clinch. Just like having a really thick beard could soften blows sightly, it won't win you a fight by itself, but it is an advantage.
@leetskeet4476

@@Byorin yeah i heard that also about Duran, i mean you gotta think a really bushy thick beard would soften the blow if even by like 0.5% or something, it would help, im no fighter but common sense would seem to say a huge beard would make it harder to accurately land punches with pin point precision, even if by a small margin
