There was an interesting fact about the bees that could’ve made it better tho... I think the hornets die at like 115° Celsius and the bees die at 117° so the bees literally get right up to their heat threshold at 116° and just barely are able to “cook” the wasps without killing themselves

Technically, the specific species of bees with defense are the Japanese species... if the hive doesn't kill that first scout hornet, then it is game over for them, defense or not... once that scout giant hornet marks a nest, and gets back to it's own nest, alerts the other giant hornets with the scented pheromones, and they storm those bee nests. Absolutely savage...
@markallen6433
4 жыл бұрын
Depends on the size of the hornet and bee colony. If the bees drastically outnumber the hornets (and are Japanese) they will win. A large hornet colony is unlikely to find a bee hive large enough to pose a threat of course, but not all hornet colonies are large. They all start off small though, hornets don't inherit a colony like bees. Every queen must self start and build up a murder squad by herself.

A Japanese guy I worked with disturbed a nest of them and his wife was stung in the neck and went into anaphylactic shock. Spent the night in the hospital. not sure about 6 foot praying mantises, but i'm pretty sure at least one of the ancient eras had giant bugs. in our current era the oxygen levels in the atmosphere are much lower compared to that of ancient times (about 15-20% i think?). that, coupled with insects anatomy of not having a circulatory system, means that we cannot have giant bugs at the moment (not enough oxygen in the air to be absorbed deep into a giant bug's body). but back in the day when there were less oxygen breathing animals, and when there was a whole lot more plant-life on earth (more oxygen in the air), circumstances allowed for giant bugs to roam the earth. i'm pretty sure i've read somewhere about huge dragonflies that were about 1 foot or 2 feet long. or it could've been on Neil Degrasse Tyson's podcast.. not sure

about the thing in the wasp , it cause the proteins in the muscles and enzymes in the body of the wasp to dissolve and there the wasp dies, same thing can happen with humans or any other animals , that's why if your body temperature reaches over a certain limit, humans have very efficient systems to manage the homeostasis in the body ( which is the constant internal environment ) edit: this process is called protein denaturation

I was once delivering roofing to a new construction and we would deliver in an area that had no homes, but had the street and sidewalks. I saw something rolling down the sidewalk, like a very small tumbleweed. It was a wasp hawk and spider and they were fighting. They would grab each other’s legs and roll and we they stopped they would split, the spider would freeze and the wasp would start looking for it. Then they would start fighting again, I though the spider was winning as it was on top of the wasp, then the wasp started shaking, I thought for sure the poison was taking affect, but the spider froze, what I could not figure, was the wasp was stinging the spider and I could not see it, because the spider was on top. So now the spider starts dragging this huge spider, which is bigger than the wasp, down a curb on the sidewalk, across the street and it lifted the spider up the next curb across a sidewalk and was dragging it into a field. I am sure it had a nest in the field, but I could not stay and watch where it was going anymore. That was one of the wildest things I ever saw and it was not in some far away place, but in the Bay Area of California. It was in Antioch, near Brentwood.

The large wasp dies at a temp 4 degrees cooler than the bees so they regulate the temp to the exact cooking temp for the wasp..

I wish he would’ve mentioned there’s only a 1-2° difference in temperature required to kill the bees vs the wasps... the bees literally almost overheat themselves in the process of cooking the wasps

Tony Massey I’m mean obviously they aren’t like chill all the time best friends, but I’m sure they both consider each other friends. You don’t have to be best friends to consider someone a friend. If they weren’t friends Maynard wouldn’t come on his show. And I’m sure he didn’t “name drop to seem important” he was probably, idk, talking about something relevant and explaining where he got it from. Obviously if Maynard jarred a dead bug and thought “I’m gonna send this to joe” you might consider them friends haha

As an artist Maynard is a genius..but as a person he's not that great. Met him at a meet and greet when he was promoting his wine and he was absolutely rude to everyone
