Joey that very same feeling of loss, (for me personally) will be profound and a very large part of my soul will die as well. Yes, it sounds nuts but it is true I believe. Joe is angry at the collapse of the industry , he is bitter and so am I. I actually dread that news, it will be like an uppercut knocking the air out of me. Joe is THE reason that I began playing in 1979. There is a story behind it but I won`t waste your time with it. Shit man, the very thought can choke me up.

Way back I got a free ticket to a concert in Phoenix, Mott the Hoople and Joe Walsh with Barnstorm. WHO? I asked the kids …… we drove to the location in 100+ heat, no AirConditioning in the old P.O.S. car, and I was the only one who could roll. No parking place and the jerk who owned the car was particularly sensitive about where he parked…..I suffered through the first set and promised myself that iffn the second unknown group didn’t convince me after the second song I was history. Joe comes out and plays the intro to Rocky Mountain Way. I was in love at the third note! What a guitar player, and he writes and sings too!

it figures though doesn't it??..they weren't even born yet and they abhor anything that doesn't resonate with little else other than the narrative of 'they're OLD, stuck in the past and 'WE' are the future'. Boomers can still relate to the big band era and early rock and roll of the 50's as they look back to the awesome sounds that paved the way for 'the new wave' of music.. But as far as I can see we're contending with a generation of those that could GAS about anything that transpired before they were born. IMO we are now inundated 'up to our ears' lol.. with trash music that grows more degenerate every day!! Good luck to these short sighted musical enthusiasts of today when AI sends them into the back seat of the bus!!

It needs to be listened to on a good sound system or with earbuds at the very least or it's not how it's meant to be sound. Greatest of my generation, no exceptions, and still going, just New Zealand not long ago. I missed stalking him for a signature, was on my bucket list for decades but the damn military moved me around so much it was like i was on tour.

@@kimberlyhardin8034 What's a cold shot?? Correcting someone with the right information? And the bassists name really is George " Chocolate" Perry whom has played for not only Joe Walsh, but CSN and even the BeeGees among many others and that has always been his true nickname.

People who’ve never tried to sing and play guitar at the same time before dont understand how hard it is. It’s like juggling and riding a unicycle… Now to do it this shit faced? Impressive.

I saw this when it first aired! I think it was a syndicated show called “Rock and Roll Tonight.” This is from the early 80s. He also did a killer version of Life in the Fast Lane with the horn section and backup vocalists bringing heat. Thanks for this posting.

A fellow ham and good guy that can play not only rock but roll as well. If there is another slide guitarist that can compare to him, name him now. Joe. Life's Been Good is the most perfect album ever written.
