Beautiful, I've enjoyed very much in listening your interpretation. I think that op 76, 116, 117 and 118 ( n° 2 is my favourite ) are among greatest achievement of piano music ever. It's pure poetry. Thank you very much for this gift.

You play wonderfully, but it just brings back horrible memories of my younger years of attempting to perfect these Brahms pieces for my old piano instructor. He was never satisfied, I was always frustrated, and I eventually quit lessons and now just play what I like for my own enjoyment.

Adam, do not let your earlier experience keep you from experiencing this wonderful music. Op 118 is pretty sofisticated music, I would never push a young person to play it. I also know it can be very traumatizing to experience a disappointed teacher, but we don't make music to make a teacher happy, we do it to fully experience the awesome beauty. I would encourage you to move past this trauma and start to play again.

Nice interpretation! Brahms would be proud. This along with Lupu’s and Lugansky’s are my favorite recordings.

May I just say that I appreciate the recording quality. The overtones of the instrument and the room make it sound like a live performance.

Modern technology is a wonderful thing. I do use a 7' Steinway which I rebuilt to my own specs which certainly provides a good starting point.

What a pleasure to hear them all .Very sensitive playing . No. 3 's first section needs piu more energico.I heard Richter and Gilels and as Brahmsian they know this is an almost violent marsch.Kovacevich's delicacy and weighting of the lines and chords has not been bettered on disc .I would say the end of no. 3 needs to be an afterthought so no heaviness but calando . But everyone must have their idea of how Brahms should go.I studied with a pupil of Cortot and I never got to hear his ideas about Brahms.Wish I could have gotten more out of my Franck !

+John e martin III Thank you for listening and your very thoughtful comments. I understand your feelings about missing out on learning a teacher's ideas about a particular composer. My graduate school teacher, Mary Sauer, is well known for her Brahms playing, but outside of a couple little Itermezzi, we didn't have any time for Brahms. You don't appreciate what you missed out on until well after the fact. I would love to hear a recording of your planning of these pieces.

Try better speakers on your end. Or even better, provide a sample of how you would do it differently and explain how it did it.
