Certainly, in Chapter 13, John teaches about the sovereignty of God in all things. From the perspective of Judas, it seemed as if he was in control, or perhaps Satan thought that he was in control. There is yet one who is above them both and is truly in control. Even in the ensuing chaos of the night, Jesus still had “all things in His hands” (John 13:3).
Also, we want to be aware of the extremely good Christian camouflage that unbelievers can wear. Unbelievers can be around Christians. Many times, Christians can’t even tell the difference because the unbeliever is so good at acting. We should also check ourselves. Just because someone is around Christianity, does not mean that they are a Christian. Do you personally trust in Christ for your salvation and repent of sin? Though the Disciples were all fooled by Judas, Jesus was never fooled. There is no hiding one’s heart from God.
