John Barry was a film soundtrack genius. He could turn any film scene in to something so smooth and atmospheric that would shatter your musical conception and make you listen more to the score than the movie itself. From the sublime to the downright malevolent. He heard the film he was composing and produced a soundtrack others will only dream of aspiring to. With a musical 'presence' that no one in my opinion has bettered. (Disney's 'The Black Hole' is an example.) Up there with the gods of film soundtracks. A legend.

2:03 - 2:26 Harp, strings, Vibes and Flute, 3:00 Keyboard - alternating notes to create an audio visual of sparkling stars and diamonds. The entire 'cue' is magnificent and to this day reminds me of many fun times playing this during certain occasions. When I'd play it, people would say 'what in the heck is this stuff'?. Then they listened and came around. What an amazing talent. Thank you John Barry. God's Speed. "Shove your honor! Where's that satellite we just sent up?!"

Probably my favourite track on the album. I love the suspense and just the feel of it. It reminds me of the warm Las Vegas landscapes we see in the film and well as picturing the satellite sequence itself. Even though the budget for the effects was dramatically cut down, this score really leaves a lasting impression. ❤️

One of, if not, the best Bond score. Everything about it compliments the scene in which it’s used so well… the unknowing, the suspense, the faint twinkling of the diamonds, throughout. The track guides you through the scene as Bond and Whyte start to piece the situation together as disaster unfolds. Perfection.
