John Bubbles was a huge influence on Fred Astaire and he often cited him as the dancer he most admired - with good reason!

Just read an article that Bubbles was the one that influenced Bob Fosse and Michael Jackson’s moves. So had to check out who he was. 😊

Makes more sense here, gonna be honest. A guy in a leather jacket doesn't have the same ring as a guy in a bowler hat.

Bubbles taught Fred Astaire to tap and Bubbles stated that in his opinion that Fred Astaire was the best dancer he’d ever met.

Mr. Bubbles was an incredible, influential dancer. Michael Jackson & Fred Astaire were just two great dancers who stole his moves. Gershwin adored him, as did many of stars of the time. Sadly, he never really prospered - it was thought he was “too sexual” for the times. What a shame.

Fred Astaire didn't steal Mr. Bubbles' moves - he paid to take lessons.

When they walked in place like that I think it was just called the "camel walk". Adding the backwards slide makes it a moonwalk.
