"Ocean" was the first JBT song I heard and fell in love with. Made me explore the band's full catalog. "Wade in the Water" is still my favorite anthem from them, though. You literally have to crank this song when it comes on and tell other people in the room to STFU. The reverb and distortion from the guitar and bass are wonderful, just like the message in the lyrics. ❤ 🍻✌ Sidenote: I had no idea JB was a skater! Learn something new every day.

One of my favorite past times is introducing people to JBT and watching their faces make that “oh wow” expression.... Then tellin them to download April Uprising album. Then they always ask... “which song”. Lol I say. No no Daniel son... the entire album. “Yea but which songs are good?” Then I have to explain that they are literally all the best song ever.... Then Watch then have the same “oh wow” look when the realize I was right!!! There just so dam good.

If you actually compare the two songs they are very similar. But upon more listen and studying to both songs, John butler has reamped and reversed the midnight rider lead guitar lick. Very clever and may I add extremely difficult to do. The original allman brothers guitarist Duane Allman was one hell of a guitar slinger to match 😜

I stayed at the caravan park in 2012 whilst travelling through with my babes. we got there late and I was trying to pitch a tent in the headlights. The owners kids came to help me, but we couldn't get the pegs in properly. Their Ma let us have a caravan at no extra cost. will never forget their kindness.

Last night I came home from my very first tour abroad with my band. It lasted just a week, but has been pure madness: over thirty hours of driving a van to get there; a flat tire; a permit missing at the very last customs so we had to carry the instruments on foot to cross the borders; driving, lost, on a foggy morning in a foreign land on a dirt road; police stopping us... But the shows themselves (there were just three) were incredible. The crowds were dancing, headbanging, chanting our name, just having fun and getting lost in the music, and so were we. A truly mystical experience. But it all fell... Distant, as if it weren't really happening. Tonight, after two days of driving back nostop, I've had my first proper night of sleep in a bed instead of a van. When I woke up, I listened to Ocean. And everything fell back into place. Everything felt right. I was home once more, I was me once more. No matter how far I wander, your music always has the power of bringing me back somewhere safe, somewhere right, and I want to thank you for that, I just wanted to say that. HOME. (sorry for the long post. If anyone is interested, my band plays a sort of punk music, we're called Wasa and you can find us as Wasa Uncultural Collective)
