A great man in the history of Christianity. If I ever won a big prize in the lottery or other sweepstakes,a pet project would be to found St.John Chrysostam Academy,a co-ed Orthodox boarding school for grades 5-12.I have school colors, mascot and uniforms for the school. Its motto would APUD DEUM OMNIA POSSIBILIA SUNT,Latin for With God all things are possible.I also have name for some of the buildings and other facilities. I absolutely love to hear his beautiful sermon every Easter.

"Chrysostom" is not his last name, as you implied in the first moments of your video. "Chrysostom" MEANS Goldenmouth.

The teachings of Saint John Chrysostom conflict with all Christian sects that aren't Orthodox. Only the Orthodox faith has preserved the truth ☦️

Four years of detachment or ascetic detachment greatly serve a person who is on the way to what is called Self-Realization.

Yes. Thank you C.B.! Another tortured Doctor of the Church who "graced" the world with his presence. It is said that emotional turbulence raises consciousness. John Chrysostom was marched to death under guard.

John Chrysostom Ἰωάννης ὁ Χρυσόστομος c. 347 - 14 September 407 He was an important Early Church Father who served as archbishop of Constantinople. He is known for his preaching and public speaking, his denunciation of abuse of authority by both ecclesiastical and political leaders, his Divine Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom, and his ascetic sensibilities. The epithet Χρυσόστομος (Chrysostomos, anglicized as Chrysostom) means "golden-mouthed" in Greek and denotes his celebrated eloquence. Chrysostom was among the most prolific authors in the early Christian Church, although both Origen of Alexandria and Augustine of Hippo exceeded Chrysostom.

“ Saint John Chrysostom, the famous Bishop of Constantinople, ascribed the origin of enslavement to the insatiable greed of man and insisted upon Paul's view that in the Church the social distinction of free and slave did not exist…”

2:29 He said, " To what was the accepted path at that time by entering onto the monastic life." This is a strange statement, as if this lifestyle was not led by the Holy Spirit or no longer the acceptable to God. Was it not the Holy Spirit leading and guiding Christ for 40 days into the wilderness? Or was it just," The accepted path of that time?" And what about John the Baptist? He lived hundreds years before Chrysostom he was called to this life by the Holy Spirit. Paul the Apostle was called to this life for a few years as well, that Christ may teach him. Discernment heard this statement and a redflag went up...Matthew 19:12 there are those who choose to live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”

I completely agree with your statement. It might not have been as clear as I planned in writing the script. I was trying to point out that as John leaned into his calling from God to join the ministry, the most accepted way of doing that was by joining the monastery. It is not to downgrade the move, matter of fact, John's teacher Libanius, a worldly philosopher, thought his move was foolish, but John knew this call to the mountains to be an extremely important part of his calling to become closer to God.
