@MrNinjaFish
Жыл бұрын
To give some additional context to this clip, the first series of Monty Python was made when the Labour government of the time was trying to deal with the rapid increases in wildcat strikes and regular industrial action. The Employment Secretary Barbara Castle tried to stop this by creating "In Place Of Strife", a white paper which would have made it compulsory for workers to have a ballot before striking and other measures which were later introduced when Margaret Thatchers Conservative government came to power in 1979. The paper caused a major division within the cabinet and subsequently it was withdrawn.

@marcelkuti7996

It's barely capitalist by the way, it's way closer to a cleptocracy. Defunkt capitalism. And just saying, that most russians still think positively of communism, and they are saying, that the anti-soviet revolts in the cold war were all started by fascist, and nazis. People are searching for commies in the US, and the EU. They are all wrong, these countries are stable democracies, and capitalisms. The thing is, in reality, you should search for them in the East. Actually, I came to this video right after I got the news, that in putinist Russia they are rehabilitating bloody-handed communist war criminals, like Stalin. Like.... literally, the dude killed more people than Hitler. (tho he reigned for decades, unlike hitler, which makes the nazi kill per year higher) But yeah. Even tho they are not living in a socialist country, but rather in a "capitalist" country, they are celebrating the communist leaders, who are in the world's POV (and mine) some of the worst ultimate villains.
