On 20th May 2021, an RAF legend celebrated his 101st birthday. John Cruickshank VC is the last surviving Victoria Cross recipient of WWII and he so nearly didn't survive the ordeal. This is his incredible story.

The beret belonged to my mother (which is why it's slightly too small for me) who was in the RAF in the early 1980's, there is no attempt at so called "stolen valour" here. I myself was not in the RAF, but was an officer cadet while at university and therefore part of the TA/Reserves.
