I know! Can't believe it wasn't leaking. I guess after 26 years of service it was ready to retire.

Hey there. So I’m running a 310g and I’ve got the same issue. So I wanna ask you. So it’s just the fuel lines from the tank to the transfer pump that can break down and suck in air but won’t leak. I’ve gotta use starting fluid to get it running. If you shut it off it’s like there’s still enough fuel in the lines to start on its own but it will die soon

Sounds like you’ve got the same problem. Everything from the suction pump to the engine will be under fuel pressure, so yes, only the line from the tank to the transfer is under suction. There is a possibility the pickup Union at the tank could be pulling air too. One thing I did was disconnect the tank hose at the transfer pump and connected a clear hose between it and the pump. I could see tiny tiny air bubbles in the fuel while it was running. That’s how I really knew it was the problem. I wish I’d done that from the start.
