That was a good haul, I towed a pull type about 30 miles and I thought that was far. Feels good once you make the turn into the driveway

I was looking for a 3300 or 4400 but wasn't finding anything. But was finding several 6600. I drove the one home, but the parts combine I pulled home with a car dolly. I couldn't go over 11 mph or it would bounce all over. I like the hitch you used. The guy that gave me the idea to use the dolly was trying to explain that hitch you have but I couldn't picture it to try to build one. Now I understand and can see how that would work very well.

Thanks. I wasn't looking specifically for a 3300, just happened to find a great deal on a good one. I used to tow cars with a tow-bar back in my younger days, worked the same way.

A fellow near West Point, Va., used to have tongues for his, just like a running gear. He pulled 3 big Oliver/White combines with 10 wheelers to southern Maryland Several times a year.

Man this brings back memories. My grandfather has a 3300 diesel combine that I spent many a Spring & Fall in. He still has it although he is done with farming now as his health has declined. Poor thing is starting to show its age but the motor still runs great.

Looks like a nice tow bar setup! Couple questions.. did you unhook the finals on the drive tires? How did you keep the back axle from turning? And or how did it steer the rear wheels? Thanks!!

Thanks! Because this is a gear drive and not a hydro, and I wasn't going very fast I just put the transmission in neutral. I unhooked the steering cylinder from the tie rods so the rear wheels could turn freely. Worked just like a tow bar on a car. the wheels will just turn and follow whatever direction you go.

I have never ever seen a tow bar on the backside of a combine before to pull it do you normally do this or is this the first time

This is the only time I’ve towed a combine. I used tow bars on cars years ago, figured it ought to work about the same.
