My dad bought a JD 24T back in 69 and I ran it for about 5 years doing custom hay work back then. I had around 250k bales ran through it when it got to where it was having a lot of break downs and he decided to get a JD336 to replace it. Seeing the 24T running brings back some nice memories. Thanks and I hope you had a nice Memorial Day!

Been a while since we small square baled any hay. I think it was 30 or so years ago when we baled with a chute and flat wagon. There was an 830 John deere on the baler then. Fun to watch. Happy memorial day weekend to you and your family

That’s probably the nicest looking 24T I’ve seen and the bales look great! We just sold our 24T this spring to take the temptation to make small bales away

Bails look good and tight as does the pack job on a wagon. Having hayed my whole life I always look to see how people stack wagons on each tier. Odd i know lol

Our hay set up is a 87 I think deutz allis 6275 with a 2006 claas disco 3500 mower. We have a Pequea tt2100 as the Tedder pulled by a 2001 deutz agrolux 80. On the rake we have a tunutti gr 15 I think pulled by a 1979 jd 2240. For the baler we have a 2023 Massey Ferguson 1745d. It’s pulled by the 2001 deutz agrolux 80. For the spare baler it’s a claas rolant. The dealership said they would give us 1000 bucks trade in so we decided to keep it. For the hay hauling truck it’s a Chevy c70 with the 366 gas motor. It pulls a 35 foot pro trax gooseneck trailer. For the field for loading we have a 863 bobcat wheeled and for the barn to stack a kubota svl 90-2 tracked. The bobcat and two deutz tractors have an air cooled motor on them. If you get the chance to buy a deutz tractor with an air cooled motor buy it. They are bulletproof tractors

You guys use a pretty big tractor for fluffing and raking. I had to use a AC that was so small it only had 1 front tire. I'd have been in heaven if the farm allowed me to use the 3010 or 4020. Hit a woodchuck hole with 1 front tire 😂. They baled just like that and had some heavy bales. It was a 160 head milking freestall operation in Amsterdam NY back in the 70s. They also had a 5020.

We have a JD 720 gasser that’s still in the neighbors barn and our 4020 needs batteries so the 4320 and 4430 got put to use. I pulled a lot of bales out of that baler as a kid. Was fun to run it!

Yes it’s a twine baler, guys that sell hay prefer wire because you can get more pounds in a bale. Would like to see how you stack hay.

@@Thewaywefarm we lay them flat, not on the side. First layer one row in the middle of wagon, in the direction it comes out of the baler, on both sides across. But maybe your wagon is not wide enough to load like this?
@tommckinley111

@@Thewaywefarm You would love a Hay hook for one hand to pull out of chute, then spear one end of bale with hook, grab the far string with other hand - cut side of bale away from body(easier on pants) and put 2 bales wide end to end across back of wagon. If you want a bigger load, you can run a row perpendicular to the first two bales between them like a "T" and stack them 5-6 high -whatever you can reach. Also - the cut side of bale is a hair shorter and as you stack them, they will naturally lean towards back of wagon(if your wagon has a vertical back to stack against). We stacked for a fork on a electric hay hoist in barn mow that would take 8 bales up at a time(4pairs end to end). Lots of hot,dusty,sweaty work. :)
