Tinman, my father in law owns a scrap yard. I always find cool stuff people throw away. I found an old Homelite 150 automatic, the blue one. I tinkered and that thing runs great now. I also found a craftsman the other day. It really is a Poulan 2000 in craftsman cloths. I took it apart and it was SO filthy. I cleaned it up, put new fuel lines in, flushed the tank, and cleaned the carb and man that thing runs nice. There's a Poulan 2000 (same saw as the Craftsman) that's been Walkerized. That's an impressive little saw for a mere 32cc. Between you, Ironhorse, and Buckin, I got the itch. I want to One Stop Fab Shoperize it! Lol. Thanks for what your do pal. Oh, I own a heavy truck repair shop where I do mostly collision work, machining, fabrication, and commercial sandblasting including restorations on heavy trucks and equipment. I'm in Upstate NY in the middle of nowhere. You wanted new people to introduce ourselves so hi. You'll be seeing me around the Tubes talking saws, old Jeeps & junk. Take care buddy!

I Scored The Same 60V Saw At A Yardsale For $10 About 6 Months Ago That Was Sitting For At Least 10 Years. 2 Days Ago My Craftsman Saw Chain Got Screwed Up. I Grabbed The John Deere, Threw Some Fuel In It & She Fired Right Up!! Then I Tightened The Chain & Cut Trees For About 5 Hours With It!! Built In 1970 & Still Cuts Like Butter!! AMAZING!!

The John Deere-Kioritz-Echo saws are unusual and interesting, especially the twin cylinder ones. I have found that they are well made, fairly quiet, slightly heavy for their displacement and have a modest power output, but are very useable for the home owner market they were sold to. One of my Kioritz saws is a Sears craftsman version of 70.45cc,s that was sold only one year, and has the same characteristics as the others. Power wise it is about on par with a homelite XL 12. It always draws a lot of attention at the shows when I display it, as it came with a 32" bar, and people think it is a big power house saw. I have done a fair amount of videos useing my JD 40V, and it always gets nice comments, even from me !

I have a John Deer that is pushing 30 years old. I bought it in my 20s (don't remember exactly when) and now I'm 54. I used it when I got it, then swt it down for a number of years (again, don't know how long). I replaced the bar & chain, because I didn't know any better and used it more, and then left it to sit several more years. I know for sure that it was last used in 2015 or '16. It was stored again. I pulled it out a couple days ago and ran it again. It had gas in it, so I disposed of that gas in an eco-friendly manner, and put a hslf tank of commercial mix gas in it. It fired up, but ran poorly. I closed the high and low jets, then opened both 1¼ turns (Buckin' Billy Ray) and tweaked from there. Cut a bunch of dry and live mesquite and some live Live Oak with it. Nothing done to it other than what was mentioned. 😁

Apparently the shops only want to work on the “Big name brands” and won’t touch Poulan, Echo & homelite saw, because they are inexpensive and they don’t see the money in them, where they should be looking at a return customer instead!
