Nice find! Local guy has an industrial electric start....it's a beast on the sled. Several were used to build I10 highway across Texas pulling a double set of sheeps foot. Also, some 840's were used pulling scrapers.

I'd like to take this to our local pull. It will be fun to see how it does.

My old neighbor had an 830 scraper. He would take it out of the shed once a year to the 4th of July parade.

Never would have guessed they made so few of those.I would think it would be highly collectible for that reason alone,also seems to be in pretty good shape.Good catch! And thanks for the information at the end, Great video,thanks for sharing!

I think it's cool. My dad prefers the agricultural version. I'm going to keep it yellow. My dad says I should paint it green.

That Button you pressed is the pony start button. The second button is the fuel gauge button. Those diesels will fire, the ponies im not so sure about. My 820 the pony is finicky sometimes, its getting tired but the diesel always fires first roll, even at 75 Rpm

I'm excited to see if I can get this one running. I hope the diesel engine starts like you said. That would be great if it does.

I' ve seen a few of them with the integral rear dirt pan. Then the later ones had the industrial 5010 instead.

Yes, I think the ones with the integral scraper were an 840. Should be the exact same engine as this tractor... Just a different seating arrangement.

Does the R have power steering or is the pump for something else.
@jonelsonster

It's got power steering. But it actually doesn't work very well yet. I'll have to make a quick video showing how it works because it's a really simple cool design.

Look'n forward to the video. I'm working on a '54 R and I'd like to put power steering on it.

Yes, were up in potato country. Unfortunately I know nothing about the Mack in the background. But maybe I'll do a walk around next time I'm up there.
