I have run all these combines over the years and have owned 2 JD 95's sense 1988 and still run one. These are great machines to run and easy to work on when you have to. Great video and its the first one I have seen with all 5 combines running in line in the field. Love them old Deere's. Bandit

I enjoy watching those classic combines. My dad had a round back 45 when I was a kid. I myself had a late model square back when I started farming in the mid 90’s.

That is a really cool video; thanks for posting and sharing. John Deere needs to make a commercial with the long green lines of combines in this video. Thanks for keep those darlings running.

Getin er done. I love it.I was privileged to have the job at 15 of greasing the first self propeled picker in the county. Massey Harris.. Cold moon light nites with a flashlight. Got yelled at it I missed a zerk.haha. Picked til the dew got heavy. It was a picker not a sheller.

To Dick Freese, right I should have answered that--had a busy day. Anyway I live in southern Ontario, Canada along the Lake Erie shoreline about 75 miles southwest of Buffalo NY. I used to farm tobacco, corn, soybeans and wheat, and I am retired now. I watch a lot of American and European farm videos. Not much Canadian farm videos on YT nowadays.

I love these mid to late Sixties John Deere combines. The grain heads were yellow, not like today the grain heads being black. A very good video, just what state is this in?

Question: what was the first year of the 6602 and what was it's predecessor? My dad used to run a John Deere 6602 at one time.

Jonathon Rossebo I am not sure mid to late 70 the 3300,4400 6600,and the 7700 came out about then Am i correct the 6602 was a pull type ?. The next series came out in the 1980s .I think J.D. stoped manufacture the 3300 .started with the 4420,6620, 7720,and 8820 titan ll. I hope i gave you the right info. may be you could look on line thank you.

No. 6602 was a self propelled hillside machine. I was wondering what model was in production just before the 6602. Also, what was the last year of John Deere's pull-type combines?

I have never seen a 1970 model 6602. The oldest 6602 I have seen was a 1973 model. A non-turbo diesel, originally a cab-less model with a hoaky add-on cab and a hoaky add-on non-moving chaff/dust screen for the incoming air for the cooling system. How do the 1970 models differ from the 1973 models?

Is there not a 6600? I believe they started production in 1969. Was a big step up from the old 95.
