I decided to make a video showing how I was able to repair a mower that had accidentally gotten bad gas or trash in the tank and needed cleaning out. I did not find any other videos showing this procedure for this mower. The mower was a 48-inch cut zero turn mower John Deere Z355E. After filling the tank from a gas can that had sat through winter months, I believe it had drawn moisture or maybe had gotten contaminated. It initially caused the mower not to run. We changed the fuel filter and cleaned the carburetor bowl out. It ran well, but only for about 20 minute spurts before getting fuel starved. This cleaning fixed the problem.
The biggest problem with these mowers is that the tank is black plastic and very dark inside. The angle is steep and unless you have one of those pocket scopes, it is impossible to view the back of the tank or easily clean the bottom from the fill spout.
