Home Free shines through once again! Love this song so much and Home free does it such justice. John Denver would be proud. Love your reaction!

I grew up listening to John Denver's songs & loved his music. That was an interesting version with a reggae beat. But I feel Home Free took this song to another level for me. It is my favorite cover of this song. I love everything about it. It is a masterpiece. Home Free is my favorite a cappella group hands down.

It took me awhile to listen to HF's version as I grew up listening to John Denver's version on the backroads of Alaska (most of them were country roads in the 70's) on a tape deck with my parents as we went fishing (no radio stations). Then, once I had children we listened to it every time we headed home from a trip (lots of memories made, obviously). However, I now love HF's version. I enjoyed the contrast of the other one you selected, thank you for that!

Have always loved John Denver and this is my favorite song of his. He released this song in 1971. It is my understanding that it took Home Free 4 or 5 years to perfect is arrangement before it was good enough to record because of the iconic status of the original. That was the first time I heard the reggae version, it was interesting. Great reaction you have a blessed day

Thank you for reacting to the Home Free version. It doesn’t get near enough attention as they took this to a whole new level. They slowed the tempo and threw in a little R&B vibe, and now it’s my favorite Home Free cover. Funny thing is I was always ambivalent about the original, but I LOVE this arrangement. John Denver must be smilin’.

This is one of my favorite songs recorded by John Denver two verses of description and one verse of motivation maybe that's what everybody responds to I don't know all I know at the core is a longing for home and returning John Denver communicated this and Home Free respectfully did this as well.

Home Free's version of this is my favorite version of this song. They worked on the arrangement for about 5 yrs before they recorded it. It's perfection. I grew up on the original and will always love it, but Home Free upgraded it for me. I still have no idea what you thought of Home Free's version because you didn't say anything about it. 🤷♀ The reggae version was definitely different. I rarely watch reactions with multiple songs in the same video - it's just too long for my youtube time alotment and I like to see a reactor focus on one artist at a time. Thanks though, appreciate it. 😊🍟

No worries Denise! Always check in when you can But I understand the time commitment!! As for HF, I’ve not heard anything yet that I didn’t just love. I just remember this song from the original because I played it in Japan for 30 days in a row sometimes three times a day. But yes, they are extremely good and I loved it. The reggae version was really just for me as I saw it when I was searching to KZitem. I actually really like reggae :-)

Quite a sensitive song. This song brings back many memories. This one was also very special.... Thank You Wolfman and Suesue 💙❤️🙏 Also The Host Jan Smit from De beste Zangers from Volendam sings a duet with the late John Denver. It is the first time that the family of the American singer, who died in 1997, has given permission for this 😇 Little Hint 💡 De Beste Zangers have sung many covers since 2009 🌟 For example Queen *Barcelona* James Brown *I feel Good* Tom Jones *Green Green Grass of Home* Wish you both a very nice weekend 🦋😘

You have a wonderful wife who genuinely cares about you (or she not only wouldn't check on you, she'd lock you outta the house! (LOL)). I'd never heard the reggae version before and it was so interesting. Another side-by-side you could try is a duet with Tim Foust (bass from Home Free) and Peter Hollens on "Bridge Over Troubled Water" with any of the other versions of it.

The band I was with was called “Tin Pan Alley” we only played one restaurant called The Americas Cafe in downtown Osaka Billed as a country music club Hardly anyone spoke English and the only things remotely American were pics of John Wayne, Marilyn Monroe and James Dean! We billed ourselves as a country band but we weren’t really We did country but only maybe half of the time and even then we took it to 11 The guy who started the band years earlier was a Country fan, and he started the band to only play country. When he added a girl singer, she did not want to do any country at all, and only wanted to do rock ‘n’ roll and zeppelin if you can believe it , I joined for the last two years of their existence It was fun and we made a lot of money in Japan and stateside What is invariably happens country music started a downward trend and all the big country bars surrounding our area closed. I finally left and joined a variety band. Thanks for listening to me drawn on! Thanks. Oh and by the way, what was your friends name and what band was he with?

I forgot to add we played three thirty minute sets The waiters and waitresses would go up on the street and hurt as many people as they could inside the club until it was full, and they had to eat. So when they were done eating, they moved them out and moved another crowd in :-) very wise actually but I hated playing 3 30 minute sets .
