I'm sitting here, tears streaming down my face, for dear God, how I wish John Denver's dream had come true. I'm weary of war, of hate, of children and mothers and daddys dying, of corruption, of evil, of lies and deceit. If only this one dream of all dreams ever dreamed would come true. God bless you John, you were the greatest visionary humanity ever had.

who says he isn't, after hearing him on the PBS special a couple nights ago when he did this poem and then it's about time, there are no oops in life, who else could deliver such a heartwarming song with so much meaning, and when it would do the most good, so many need to hear those words!! he never knew how talented he was, or how he would feel about what is happening in the world today he may not be here, BUT HIS SPIRIT IS!!! he has the best seat in the house, and i think our father is using this man to deliver that very important message!! all i can say JOHN WE MISS YOU!!! RIP!!! and ps listen to his recording of Healing time on earth the story behind that song will give you chills, it was written about 5 years before his death, coincidence? NO again there are no oops in life!! think about it!

I'm crying so hard now. I graduated HS when this was recorded, in 1982. I'm almost 58 now and his heart, God given talent and amazing presence for his limited time on this earth so astounds me more as the years go by. Still as relevant and even more so than ever. OMG, I miss him. I first fell in love with his voice, words and entire existence when I was 10 years old, babysitting to get money to buy his albums. John, missed today more than ever and looking forward to reuniting in heaven!

What a great message!!!!! I am constantly reminded that he reached so many people of diverse backgrounds and interests with his music and different musical genres that he wrote ... in a style that only John Denver could perform.. If only he were with us today (2016) maybe he could write and perform some music that would communicate a need to bring people of diverse political and religious factions together instead of always confronting each other. Like John, I am a pilot myself, I just love his version of "The Higher We Fly". He took John Gillespie McGee Jr.'s poem "High Flight" -- added a chorus and performs it in a way that communicates a message of peace, togetherness, and love. What's so wrong with that??????

If only the good folks could become our leaders, instead of all the corrupted people. They remind me of toddlers in a big sandbox fighting over a ball, they need to learn that it it is a lot more fun to share it and be good to it as well each other. But they never seem to realize that. God bless you,John, if only you were with us in person, but you are in your songs, we just need to listen, and help carry out this vision.

Empath possibly? A hurt to others is painful to him as well. He is gentle and sensitive and his voice vibrates with feeling-joys and sorrows and frustration that chaos and refusal to listen undermines peace. To be at peace with oneself, with other people not an easy state but a freeing one. John Denver is a rare person he sought peace, love and explored deepest feelings that resonated and freed listeners from barriers that separated them from one another.

I make this my mantra: There's a name for war and killing there's a name for giving in when you know another answer for me the name is sin but there's still time to turn around and make all hatred cease and give another name to living and we could call it peace And peace would be the road we walk each step along the way and peace would be the way we work and peace the way we play And in all we see that's different and in all the things we know peace would be the way we look and peace the way we grow There's a name for separation there's a name for first and last when it's all for us or nothing for me the name is past but there's still time to turn around and make all hatred cease and give a name to all the future and we could call it peace And if peace is what we pray for and peace is what we give then peace will be the way we are and peace the way we live Yes there still is the time to turn around and make all hatred cease and give another name to living and we can call it peace Read more: John Denver - The Peace Poem Lyrics | MetroLyrics

PEACE! This is a Beautiful song of John Denver! I was Blessed to see John Denver in Concert in the early 90's in Amarillo,TX. It was such a Blessing! John Denver's voice is so soothing, and every song he write's is beautiful.(Deep feelings, and emotions).John Denver sung "Rhyme's and Reason's",at the concert.(as he said he wrote in the shower). When John Denver sung this song at the concert, those were his exact word's. John Denver was full of Laughter, and Love. Peace to all!
