I was in Berlin, Germany in 1992 and went this place called the Irish Pub to throw back a few. They had this two piece band there cranking out a bunch of American tunes all night. At one point they broke into a stretch of John Denver tunes, and man that friggin' bar came ALIVE! Everybody was singing in English (with German Accents of course) and people got on the dance floor and even some tables dancing their butts off. It was the craziest thing I've ever seen! Those Germans love their John Denver.

I'm a year-round competitive swim coach. And we recently had a big swim meet down in Ohio last week. Anyone who has kids of their own or works with kids knows how tough this pandemic has been for them. It's been an emotional roller coaster battling covid. Anyway.. the DJ at the meet played this song just a few minutes before the meet started, and I was expecting myself and the other coaches to know the song since we're a bit older and the kids wouldn't like it. But then I stopped and looked around the pool deck and almost every kid on deck was dancing to this song. It was so fricking cool seeing that and seeing these kids smile again. Music is so awesome, and this guy was one of the best.

And now, at 63 years old, I still love and listen to his beautiful music whenever I can. God blesses John Denver and American country music.

As he passed me and got in I said “Hi John. Good luck.” Now in the car, he smiled and said “Thank you.” My little moment with John. The next night, I drove to Providence, R. I'm country from my peanut country life. My life wasn't easy, the peanut farmers in Kentucky were always looked down on and it took alot of courage to go to mah farming country girl school, while being only a peanut farmer. I was bullied and some of these crooks went to mah aunt becky's farm and stole the 28 peanuts she had been growing for a whole year. 10 years later im a founding member of country girls peanut shop, me and aunt becky get 4 customers day. I guess its safe to say we have a lot of business and as a business person who is also a minority because of mah country race, thankgod im a country gal.
