Our John has a talent so rare it won't be seen again in my lifetime. As us fans say, John could sing the phone book and it would be a No1 hit.

Just make a note to self: Where possible, review John's live performances. His 'official' vidoes are very good but John is an excellent showman and his voice seems to transcend his official videos. You have taken the first steps on a long journey. I recommend, 'When the War is Over' (the last time) 'Help', John's interpretation of the Beatles song. I could go on as there are many of his performances on YT. Keep in mind that you are hearing a 3.2 octave range whenever he sings, so enjoy.

I agree. I've never, in 50 years been able to find the right words to exactly describe the experience of listening to him. There have been and are, many great singers but none have the versatility and perfection of John. Everything you hear and see is natural talent. He's never had singing or acting training, yet from the first note to the last he holds thousands of people captive. He can sing any genre perfectly just by choosing to. He is also a wonderful human being. Kind, generous, humble and deeply grateful for his fans.

I've seen John live 17 times and would be at No 18 if that miracle ever happened. At 73 he still held his notes and still could sing live before the jaw cancer last year. John is a true master vocalist....Richard Marx a good friend of John's has a 4 part series on KZitem called "John Farnham can sing any genre" and worth a watch - react to 2 parts at a time for flow effect.

One of his finest performances and John is in the elite few people in the world who have played this part and hit that A5 sustained note. Please add When the War is Over to the list- another one of his standout vocal performances! Thanks for your reactions to Farnsey! PS this was a Broadway show- Jesus Christ Superstar

No words can really explain the brilliance of his voice. That is why he is affectionately know as THE VOICE. . Also known as Farnsey, Whispering Jack and Johnny when he was younger. But don't call him that now lol. He is like a chamelian and he pretty much adapts to any genre with ease. Also one of the reasons he didn't do well in the US. They couldn't lock him down to a single genre and he didn't fit into any of their standard boxes. 🤣 but nice to see he is finally getting the recognition over there that he deserves. It is a movement. Aussies have been part of the Farnsey Army for decades and will support his music, his family and him personally through thick and thin . In the event that he completely recovered from cancer and was able to do one more concert there would not be a venue big enough....so he'd have to do multiple concerts and that's just the way it's always been. Well apart for a few years in the late 70's when he dropped out of favour for a few years. Thanks again and keep enjoying the journey...we will be on journey with you all the way

PS. I gave you the wrong name of the song with Lisa Edwards. It is 'Lifted Up By Angels'. As you are experiencing, John Farnham can sing in many genres. Singing is his passion and what he came here to do. American? Adam Stolfo is another reactor that has done a number of excellent videos about John, including a four part series named, 'John Farnham Can Sing Anything'. Also, another one on John's musical journey.

Correct, it was not a play nor a concert. Jesus Christ Superstar is a rock Opera written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. In this Australian production Farnham played JC. One word you missed trying to describe him is versatile. He can sing any genre and it is always great. From the performances you have seen so far, a side of him you are yet to see is his on-stage personality. He loves to chat to the audience, make bad jokes, and always gives his fellow musicians due credit and acknowledgement. He is just a humble, levelheaded guy who is unbelievably talented. Thanks for another Farnsey reaction!

Thanks, I really enjoyed that again. For John, every song comes from his heart, which made it easy for him to act in this musical - exactly as you said, a cross between a play and a concert. John's charisma is why we always say to watch John live, and you feel it through an electronic medium, imagine being at his concerts - you felt that charisma on steroids. John was "King of Pop" as a teen singing his first few songs, and he had it then. [On the line of 'religious' songs, John sings 'Amazing Grace' with a starring role from Vanetta Fields, his American gospel supporting singer, also 'Angels' with Lisa Edwards, his rock supporting singer (you'll have seen her with the very present hair in Help and dancing in the Long Way to the Top)] Have a great evening/day?
