Frusciante never said his music was "awful". Why are so many people not hearing him properly in that interview. He said "I cried, I dont know why, I didnt like his music or anything....But it's awful, about his little girl and all...I dont wanna talk about it" He uses the word awful to describe the suicide and the aftermath/frances

WES SCANTLIN NEEDS TO SEE THIS AND REALIZE HOW TO DO A COVER!!! You don't imitate the original because you'll never be able to get to that! When you do it passionately like this and sing it the way you sing!!!! That's what knocks it out if the park! If you're infringing it the way you sing you can put the passion into it instead of trying to strain and sing like someone else. This is a GEM!! and to the people that are "he said they were bad and he didn't like Nirvaner!" It's like DUDE!!! he was soooo strung out and even did a shot before that VPRO interview! He hated ALL bands on labels and saw them as corporate crap. He left RHCP for the live of gawd because he felt it was turning into that! What I said years ago while loaded I'd never want ANYONE to hold that to me as a permanent thought or feeling. Once John got clean and stuff I feel had had a new set of eyes t ok see and feel everything in the world with. His appreciation of art was completely different! It ALWAYS IS AND WILL BE in the contrast between of being on Dope and not. If youve ever been on!... you kno what kinda mind it can sink you into! ESPECIALLY if you're going into the deep artistic trip on it. You fall into urself and it gets dark and like ur on another planet while watching everything else go on around you and ur just like "uhhhh.... really?" While observing and judging things (be it art or just people in general) in the world

@sonorpaiste702 i don't think it takes away from anything, I thought that falsetto was beautiful the first time I heard this cover, but by that time I did not know the original. Bear in mind that Frusciante stated he wishes he could express that "celebration of insanity type of screaming) that Cobain used to do, but when covering him he prefers to give it his own touch - of course, if we except Moist Vagina, were his screams were even more extreme than Cobain's.
