I actually think John has a better voice but anthony is a better singer and performer but it's true. that explosiveness in Anthony's voice and John's high pitched singing is really what makes them unique. I don't think they would've been as good with John singing everything

this is so sick. it really captures how the peppers are able to get the distinct sound they have. in this song specifically, the funk sound of the guitar part contrasts with the vocal melodies of the chorus (especially the backup vocals that john sings) and it creates this sound that makes the peppers so unique.

@RHCPdbe Don't be silly, of course it was separated. Do you have any idea of how many man-hours it would take to clean up an un-separated track? Or even how it could ever sound this good? How else could they mix the band? They probably recorded the raw tracks of the band live in a studio; them all mic'd up separately possibly divided from each other and Anthony in a booth. John records his all his bvox as overdubs because he doesn't learn the words until the last minute before recording.
