Bless you, John! Playing with you, Benny, Rodney, Dean and the rest was the greatest time ever. Oh yeah, and thanks for saving my ass! Miss you and Marie.....BB

John lived with Norman in Nashville way back in the 60's.

@@deanpitman3325 John lived with us on Belmont Blvd. in Nashville when this was recorded. John's bedroom was first one at the top of the stairs overlooking the alley outback. His son and I are near the same age and Jamie would come visit at our house. John was also present at the birth of Carnes Blake, my brother on June 14, 1971. They had just gotten in off the road and our mother was in labor.

John Hartford was originally going to be the fiddle player for Old and In the Way but for some reason it didnt work out.

My understanding is that Hartford did a couple gifs with Old and In the Way before Vassar joined. I reckon their ain't no recordings.

@@TubbsTheCat I love Hartford, but Vassar's fiddle skills are out of this world. If I was starting a band and hiring for someone who only played fiddle, I'd hire Vassar, too.
