I was introduced to this song via 'The Dr. Demento Show' years ago. A classic piece of demented silliness!

Every time I get a bad cold, I get this voice, so I sing thing this song. My wife is Chinese, and I've been singing this around the house for a decade. So when I just got sick again (too sick to remember which album it's from), I came here to play it. I sound exactly like this, but sang it a little slower. What a great find! Thanks for posting!

John played my bar/music club twice in 1982. He was an amazing, singer, songwriter and entertainer extraordinaire.

The missing verse: We can boogie in the living room, boogie in the den. Come on baby let's do it all again. Hey babe ya wanna boogie? Boogie woogie woogie with me. (12 grunts) Boogie woogie woogie with me.

This is his original on his record, I know my dad owns it. I actually recorded this song with me singing when I was 8 yrs old. I've got to see John Hartford live preforming twice, once in arcade N.Y. at Earl's restaurant and down town Rochester, N.Y. I even got his autograph!!Plus he autograph my t shirt of the Mississippi steam boat whistle blew!

First head this song on the Dr. Demento show back in the late 1980's. It's just as funny now as it was back then. I still crack a smile when I hear it.

Ons of my first GF's and I would lol and parody this out of tune- tune in 71. In its heyday WMMR in its progressive day would play it . It just came to my Brain and had to find who did it. John Hartford ? Yikes! Now I'm trying to find a song from the same time where a baritone sounding guy did a song - kinda reggae sounding where the lyrics included "let it burn burn burn" no luck. Any idea? Thought it might be john prime, jerry Jeff Walker or louden wainwright.
