As a former agnostic born and raised in a former communist Soviet Union and brainwashed there by, first, atheistic teachers at a primary school and then, by atheistic professors at a university, I love listening to such podcasts. Lennox speaks here directly to the scientism of McGrath & Weinstein in the earlier show. Another year now gone by, and I fear that after Covid people have not learned the lessons Lennox mentions have traditionally been learned as the result of great trials reminding us of the fragility of life. Lennox is right about young people…they have grown up unexposed to rational and reasonable reasons to believe in God. Thus, the default position of atheism - or disinterested doubt - prevails. I would love to hear Lennox juxtapose his ideas (in an UNBELIEVABLE? friendly dialogue) with either one of McGrath or Weinstein. Another show, Justin?

Will you go to Heaven? Here’s a quick test: Have you ever lied, stolen, or used God’s name in vain? Jesus said, “Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” If you have done these things, God sees you as a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart, and the Bible warns that one day God will punish you in a terrible place called Hell. But God is not willing that any should perish. Sinners broke God’s Law and Jesus paid their fine. This means that God can legally dismiss their case: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Then Jesus rose from the grave, defeating it. Today, repent and trust Jesus, and God will give you eternal life as a free gift. Then read the Bible daily and obey it. God will never fail you. (living waters/ray comfort) God bless

As for God looking on sin; to quote David Pawson, "He does it all the time." He sees it all. He's aware of all the good and bad in each of us. There's no hiding. But He loves us, even though He sees exactly who we are. That's why Jesus came. Rather than God hiding His face at our sin, I think it's us hiding our faces. We're the ones hiding in bushes so as not to show our nakedness. We're the prodigals too ashamed to lift our faces to the eyes of the Father who sees all and has been looking out for us, and runs out to meet us where we are, covered in filth and dust. The Devil stands to accuse us, like in Zecharaiah, and, like Joshua the high priest, we stand before God sinful, as if in filthy clothes, but when we hear Him say to get out, and turn to go, we hear the stomp of feet and the slam of the door, and find it's the accuser who is shut out, and God giving us fresh, clean clothes and the chance of new life.

The best advice for you is don't read the bible cover to cover! And don't research what sciences have discovered about the bible either e.g. that the Flood, the Exodus, the Wanderings and the Conquest stories - and the characters that people them - are mythical. Don't research "The Documentary Hypothesis" or "The Synoptic Problem."

Reasons for, causes of conversion, are apparently four-fold according to the personality, leanings of the individual. They are love, goodness, beauty and truth. (Note the enemy's use of lgbt.) Some people's worldview will be shaken by love: the love of a parent for a newly-born baby, romantic love or the love you see in your dog 's eyes for you. You may be moved by the goodness you see in the sacrificial lives of someone like a nun who has given up her life to help others. the beauty of glorious music like Thomas Tallis' Spem in Allum, or Beethoven's 7th symphony; or a painting or a medieval cathedral. May move you. None of these approaches were sufficient to make me a Christian (though they did convert me further, later, into Catholicism); for me it was 'T' for truth, or the intellectual approach -- which is not for everyone. To clarify this latter, even when I didn't like an aspect of theology -- hell, for instance -- I didn't dismiss it because I didn't like it: if it's true, it's true. That 's what the 't' approach means.

30 moins in, from 'atheist-leaning' agnostic who listens to debates between "atheists and believers". Well there he's already been suckered. It's a false dichotomy: BOTH parties are believers. Faith is NOT unique to one side. There are those who believe that God exists. And there are those who believe that God does not exist. Of course, both will, normally, propose their reasons. But whatever their reasons, their BELIEF remains JUST a belief, held by FAITH. This is not a concept that is difficult to understand. (Though clearly some thesaurus-writers and even otherwise intelligent Christians don't.) But it IS a concept that is difficult to grasp; to hold, to retain, to keep within your grip. It is so very easy to let slide, to forget. Suggested nomenclature would be 'atheists and theists '. That will have its own problems. But it will prevent the deception that atheists are not believers.

Four years ago, Mike Winger discovered that there is a rabbinical ban (not biblical) of calculating the prophecy in Daniel 9 because it will lead to Jesus of Nazareth as the Messiah. Calculate 666 and the puzzle in the book of Revelation will be solved

I completely agree with John wrt AI - a computer programme is only as good as the programmer. But why is it that he does not apply the same understanding to Evolution? Other mathematicians have said that mathematically it makes no sense, so why let it override the vastly superior explanation for this world found in the Bible? Another thing that worries me is why do Christians have a God who cannot prevent disaster? Is their God so tiny He could not prevent it if He wished? Yet God says quite clearly that He brings disasters, in His hands are all the events of this world, yet His plan could not include COVID-19. When we die is in God's hand, as is the means by which we die. Also in God's hands are the decisions of our rulers, foolish or otherwise. All leads to that great day, when God will be glorified by the saved and the condemned equally. God's justice and mercy equally displayed.

It is a pity you need to learn a lot before you can get answers to your questions. It takes you to know how to combine molecules to make H2o. Saying it by listening cannot bring water but stuffing it and experimenting will do the job. If you need bible study you do yourself well by taking one with knowledgeable person like John

Also, keep this in mind: The wage of our sin is death and it took God's ultimate sacrifice to (pay for) our sin. And He did. But if anyone of us decide NOT TO accept the gift of God's sacrifice to pay for their own sin, whose wage is death, then they would have to pay it out of their own pocket. No way out and run from it. And that is death penalty. It's God's written laws that say it. John 3:16 tells of God's love for His creation. The same way your dad, my dad, loves you and me. And they have great joy to know that their children have the best life achievable. Not miserable in hell. Makes sense? ...
