It could have been a million guitar players that made this, but only JM put the work in to exploring the styles that influenced him and rearranged those influences into something new.

Apart from him being a great guitarist, he's also a Singer/Songwriter after all. He's allowed to be vulnerable and speak from his emotions (and not just his playing) 'cause at the end of the day he is also a human being.

I think Edge Of Desire is one of the most amazing songs I've ever heard. That riff, the lyrics, the build up to the solo and the release back to the chorus right after it. The entire composition is just pure genius.

I’ve noticed John has been influenced at least a decent bit by Dave’s music, it’s apparent in a few songs and his vocal style, and him referencing Satellite definitely solidifies that theory for me! And for playing it off the top of his head that well is definitely noteworthy. Lol

I've noticed that the very best music I've ever heard is made by people who genuinely love music---like music for music's sake. Obviously there's plenty of talented people who routinely churn out hits---but they make you wonder: If there wasn't money or fame involved, would they be in music? John genuinely loves music. And it shows.

You really say something on guitar. My band started covering your version of call me the breeze we have a lot of fun with that one.
