And what about that stupid rule 12/6 elbow???
@prettykitty3935
7 жыл бұрын
it can easily hit the eye and cause serious problems that way, because of the angle, other elbows are more sideways so they cant hit the eye of a grounded opponent. so its good that its banned IMO...

It's going to be interesting when Jones comes back. Fighters were reluctant to close the distance with those fingers sticking straight out at eye level. His arms and fingers are so long he could poke you and not even be in striking distance.

datDANK it's in the style of the fighter. All fighters extend their hands to measure distance and someone like Jones who always has a reach advantage will more than likely deliver accidental eye pokes.

Get rid of the 12 to 6 elbow. It's so ridiculous that someone can throw an elbow as hard as possible at a slight angle or sideways, but the second you go directly up and down it's illegal.

In the early days of Pride fighting. Royce Gracee had a number of matchs where he and the combatent just laid on the ground and didn't move. Eventually Royce would suddenly stretch his gi accross the throat and the match was over. There was no stand up rule.

Grounded usually means they have no way of defending their own head, in any way. These fights can be vicious, but they want them fair, and safe, as well.

Most of the rules don't make sense. Subjective values of dumbasses who never trained a single day in their lives arguing with Big John back in the day. Soccer kicks/Stomps are still somewhat legal in One FC in Asia. I miss the old Pride FC days. Demetrius Johnson was just KO'ed by Adriano Moraes in One FC due to a knee while both were on the ground. Shogun Rua was a specialist at kicking grounded opponents. When he transitioned to American MMA one of his main tools was taken away from him, and he didn't have as much sucess. kzitem.info/news/bejne/mWh6uI16emqlmGk

Look at his job at 205, he let Khabib hit MJ hundreds of times (even telling his corner that "he won't let that happen next round") and the Big John only let Conor hit Eddie three times before stopping the fight and refused to let it go to the ground which is the exact opposite of what he did a few hours earlier.

Aaron Burrell Cause khabib hits like a girl. Theyre little rabbit punches Where conor was knocking eddie down and snaping his head back
@TfJedisuper
7 жыл бұрын
Khabib took MJ down and then hit him with relatively weak ground and pound, MJ was perfectly conscious and defending himself while that was going on. Conor hit Eddie so hard with multiple clean shots that made his legs give out and his head bounce off the canvas, in that state he was done if Conor had gone in and letting it continue risked giving him legit brain damage. HUGE difference.
@TheRocknRollfreak
7 жыл бұрын
Conor concussed Eddie multiple times even before that final combo, as brutal as that sounds. Mj was active in the fight, still cogent. When Eddie hit the floor after that final combo he was primed for serious damage.
@aaronburrell3729
7 жыл бұрын
Khabib was the obvious dominant fighter and MJ was a danger to himself by refusing to admit it and tap. Big John almost got MJ a broken arm or shoulder. 100 rabbit punches may equal 1 Conor punch but after the 100 rabbit punches the fight should be called. Khabib was showing mercy and Big John just couldn't recognize it.
