I know Bill Hader, Nick Kroll and Seth Meyers were at the intervention. I’m still trying to figure out who the other nine comedians that were there. Glad John cleaned up. I would hate for him to end up like Mitch Hedberg did with his heroin addiction.

i think people fail to realize how fucked up drug addiction and even drug abuse can make you. i had a serious problem with cocaine 2021-2022 and am clean now, but i spent most of my time just working, drinking, and snorting. lied about what i was doing to all my friends, lied about where i was, lied to the people who really cared. i wasn’t the same until a about a year after i stopped doing cocaine and other stimulants. got clean for my fiancée and will stay that way.

I absolutely love how gifted this dude is. He can spin the worst of the worst situation and find the humor in it! He is truly gifted! What makes his routine even better is it’s all true to life. You can’t bs this stuff. If you’ve never walked in those shoes you can’t fake your way through it!

My aunt rounded up my family and neighbors to try and intervention me. It was an odd experience. Fully believing I was in the right, but also having to navigate their charged emotions and try to maintain relationships.

I wish I had the balls to talk about my problems on stage. Would love to start doing stand up as a hobby. I’ve got a journal full of self-deprecating material but every time I think about going to an open-mic night I convince myself to go “next time”. Mainly because I’m worried someone I know will be there and hear all the shit I don’t want my friends/family to hear 😂.

I was the Belle of the Ball at my Rehab Cotillion 8 times then I took myself and it seems to be working. I don't think he's being cocky, it's a hard thing to face when you're that far gone. You know it but damned if you'll admit it.

Hey, it's part of recovery! If a man is willing to tell you earnestly and fully the ways he's petty, malicious and deceitful that is NOT a man you have to worry about. If rehab worked for him, then it seems he's using comedy to kind of open up about the truth of his life beyond this edited facade he's put on for years. And that's an upright, decent thing to do - just because the details are ugly doesn't make it less so

My experience with addicts is that they are unlikeable. I've had people who were once my friends rob me of thousands of dollars because of their coke addiction. I've seen some turn into actual Nazis. Drug addiction can turn people into emotional black holes. It's good that he shows what can happen. We talk about the health and financial implications of drug addiction, but rarely about what it can do to who you are.

Interventions are such a wild concept to me lol the fact people don’t just immediately leave when they realize what’s going on it’s crazy. I have a friend that had one and she told me they took her car keys because they knew she was going to bolt and she pretended to use the bathroom and ordered an uber to the bar lol. She’s sober now but I died laughing at the thought of her climbing out the window and disappearing while her friends and family were waiting in the other room 😂
