John Oram discusses the effects of group delay on EQ performance and sonics. Check out the Hi-Def EQ: www.john-oram.com/ Check out Opal: www.acustica-audio.com/store/...
I had to do a big shootout to hear it at first but the Acustica Opal EQ has a unique sound, kind of an uncanny clarity. Well worth a listen!

what is this guy reading?? yes length of your channel strip changes the appearance of an element in time. you're better off having all the same compressor on all the same channel with ALL the eq's switched either in or out... rather than having 24 channels with or without EQ and three of them through two different compressors.

youre better off with 8 channels of 8 eq and 8 compressors all exactly identical, or 4 or 2 or 1. rather than 24 channels all mix matched together

and frankly I think youre better off with a split rather than completely filling an inline when it comes to summing because the large and small faders have their own time delays
