Very old Castle Film production of magician John Scarne in his prime. Please visit my website: www.casinogames... I just published an article on Scarne's life.
John Scarne's complete mastery of playing card mechanics, along with his manual dexterity and fluidity are absolutely mind-numbing. Thanks soooooo much for posting this. Totally Incomprehensible.

First there was John Scarne on gambling, then there was John Patrick. Both great authors and gamblers. John Scarne's BEST BOOK is his autobiography. The Odds Against Me. GREAT READ, Great stories about when he was growing up as a magician and a card mechanic and the world card mechanics dice cheats, and old-time gamblers. Available on Amazon.

Its funny how nobody knows how scarne does his switchcraft card switch. I havent seen anyone on youtube do a tutorial on it. Even his card cutting and handling of the deck is amazing. I like his double lifts

His misdirection had been off the charts , he was very skilled during that period of time and my I say Even today's measures he would still be a fine prestidigitator.lll

I read his book "The Amazing World of John Scarne" 1n 56 or 57 and have been a fan of magic ever since - especially card magic. I later found out in the movie "Sting" the close up when Paul Newman was practicing shuffling cards, it was Scarne doing the moves. See it elsewhere on you tube. I was fortunate to meet another great card magician in Chicago back in the 50's named Ed Marlo who as I think about it lived during the same time-frame as JS. He worked at a magic shop/arcade on Randolph St in Downtown Chicago in an upstairs room that was mostly known to magicians. There were a other locations downtown that the best magicians and slight of hand artists often visited - Thanks for posting.

See I always call it the "Push - Thru" shuffle whereas others like here call it the "Pull - Thru", though to my 21 years of knowledge it's the same shuffle just 2 different names. Awesome Video.
