Joe Sakic was 100% sure that was a goal. Beezer was the man

G-fan I do like watching some of the guys play these days, but you’re right. The golden age of hockey for me is between 1993-2004

Had my Rangers started him for games 2, 3 and 4 against the Islanders in the 1984 playoffs, we would’ve closed out the series with a shutout in game 4 and then taken out the Washington Capitals and Montreal Canadiens both in 5 games, before losing the Stanley Cup to the Edmonton Oilers in game 7 in Edmonton. Then, we would’ve won the 1st ever Presidents’ trophy in the 1984-85 season with 126 total points and Beezer would’ve won the Calder, Vezina, Hart, William M. Jennings and Lady Byng trophies all that season along with the Lester B. Pearson award, while Herb Brooks would’ve won the Jack Adams award. Then, we would’ve beaten the Philadelphia Flyers in game 5 of the best-of-5 Patrick Division Semifinal series and the Islanders in 5 games in the best-of-7 Patrick Division Final series, before turning a 2-0 lead into a 4-2 loss to the Adams Division champion Buffalo Sabres, who would’ve lost the Stanley Cup in game 7 in Edmonton, themselves. Then, in the 1986 playoffs, we still do what we did, except, we beat the Flyers in 4 games in that best-of-5 series after losing the opening game and we would’ve beaten the Islanders in the 2nd round, instead of the Capitals and we still lose the Prince of Wales Conference Final to the eventual Stanley Cup champion Montreal Canadiens in 5 games. Then, we would’ve taken the Flyers to game 7 of the opening round series in 1986 before losing that series. Then, in 1988, the Islanders would’ve beaten the New Jersey Devils in game 7 of the opening round series and the Capitals in 5 games and the Canadiens, also in 7 games, before losing in game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final in Edmonton, as the Oilers would’ve gotten revenge from getting upset swept by the Islanders in 1983 to help the Islanders complete the 4-peat. Then, Wayne Gretzky would’ve signed a 1-year contract extension in Edmonton in that 1988 offseason and would’ve come to my Rangers in the 1989 offseason, instead of waiting until the 1996 offseason to come. Then, we would’ve swept the Islanders in the opening round of the 1990 playoffs, in order for Gretzky to win 2 consecutive playoff series against them and then we would’ve won game 7, 6-3 against the Devils on home ice, in order to give us our 1st ever game 7 victory, before losing the Prince of Wales Conference Final in 5 games to the Boston Bruins and then beaten the Capitals in game 7 of the 1991 opening round series, before losing in 5 games to the eventual Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins. Then, Mark Messier still comes in the 1991 offseason to re-unite with Gretzky, but it’s Gretzky who wins the 1991-92 Art Ross, Hart and Lady Byng trophies, along with the Lester B. Pearson award and we would’ve still gotten the same results that we did that year and we still replace Roger Neilson with Mike Keenan in the 1993 offseason and we would’ve kept Vanbiesbrouck that year and we win the 1993-94 Presidents’ trophy with 136 points and we would’ve won game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final, 7-0 at home against Vancouver and Beezer would’ve won the Vezina, Hart, William M. Jennings, Lady Byng and Conn Smythe trophies with the Lester B. Pearson award, while Gretzky would’ve won the Art Ross and inaugural Maurice Richard trophy with 70 goals and 92 assists for 162 all season long and Mike Keenan would’ve won the Jack Adams award.

Should have could have same here being a lifelong born and raised Buffalo sabres fan what if we got hasek a defenseman that could score? What of we got another center ? We waisted !! !!! A once in a lifetime goaltender here in Buffalo with hasek Gerry mehhan general manager of the sabres at the time stole him away from Chicago for Christian rutu and Stephen beaugard we went ahead and traded puppa to Toronto for grant fuhr another brilliant move !!! . Let hasek continue to learn from great veteran goaltenders the problem was we became to comfortable with allowing hasek to do everything we never gav him . Supporting cast even when he had the chronic groin injures. All we did was get him a decent back up goalie Alex zhitnik a great sabres defenseman would over 25 minutes per night solid !!! But couldn't hit the net We waisted hasek away watching him lift that stanley cup in Detroit was absolutely heartbreaking because we knew he could do it here but they never got him a supporting cast . I feel you're pain man Greetings from Buffalo New York
