Harlem Nights is and was so far ahead of its time. To have 3 generations of comics who had commercial success doing it there way in one film even before you get to the rest of the cast. Thank goodness for Sanford and Son so maybe a few more generations will know Redd Fox...maybe they find Redd Foxxx in his albums. Maybe they find Jojo Dancer as well. Also I am a 44 year old Afghanistan veteran with many Vietnam veterans in my family so glad you made it and thanks for still going.

John Witherspoon’s so underrated! He’s a living legend, who should (if not yet) have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and all that...

I love when we can get a story told by someone who was there. .. this ladies and gentlemen should not be taken lightly. A story like this can only be told by 1 maybe 2 people. So thank God we still have great entertainers around who can give us insight to the past. Love it

I am beyond blessed to be given the opportunity to open for this hilarious man in 2017 at Tommy T’s in Pleasanton, CA. I offered to pick him up and drop him off the whole weekend at the nearby hotel, he gave me a lot of useful advice and really opened my eyes about the business. He was gracious, hilarious, and an absolute gentleman. RIP John Witherspoon.

I knew spoon in the 90’s. Great guy. I got him cast as Will smith’s cantankerous girlfriends father in a fresh prince of bel air episode. That was one of the highest rated episodes.

Thanks, Joe! Enjoyed listening to Spoon regale us on Pryor. To have been over Richard's house on a Sunday with Spoon, Mooney, Davis and other comics of those days? That's like being over Eddie Murphy's house with Chappelle, Hart, Rock, Katt, Morgan, etc. I would be in an ambulance for bursting some blood vessel from laughing so hard.

This man’s character lives in my head. “You ever get a dog down, and you start beating his ass. Take y’a anger out on that ole mutt” that’s probably not the quote but it works
