its so refreshing to hear a really good blues guitarist again. his tone is very unique and he doesnt shred the shit out of the guitar like satch and steve vai do. They're both great guitar players but I love how Johnny A has a totally unique style of playing. Much like Eric Johnson, you can always tell its him when you hear his music. I had never heard of him before until a friend recommended him to me. After previewing his music I immediately bought both of his cds. Rock on Johnny A!

This guy is extremely underplayed and underrated. If radio stations played more of this and less of the same old garbage, More youngsters would know what good guitar playin, Style and over all, DYNAMICS is all about. all of which seems to be lost nowadays. Don't get me wrong, I've been playing myself for over 40 yrs, One of my Favorite guitar players is Alex Skolnick (TESTAMENT, Alex Skolnick Jazz trio, and his incredible work last year on "Planetary Coalition" I LOVE kicking metal like Testament, Soilwork, Megadeth etc.... But if all you hear while shaping your style is one sided, Your not going to be a very rounded (Versitile) guitar player. Johhny A is amazing and his instrumental tunes never grow old to me.

He always so economical, clean & concise. Hardly a note out of place. Amazing someone can find anything to criticize Kind of like when the Lemmings complain about a great dialogue scene in a movie saying "It's boring. Too much talking. Ain't enough Splosions"'

I got to see Johnny A perform at the Wiltern Theater in Hollywood several years ago when he opened for Peter Frampton. I remember at the end of his set he invited everyone to visit his merch. table after the show. In his thick Boston accent he said, "If you don't want to buy anything, stop by and say hello...and I'll call ya cheap bastahds." I still laugh about that one!
