I guess Kentucky Fried Chicken, as well as other advertisers, might have discovered that live endorsements had a tendency to backfire.

How odd... I type in "Mort Sahl Tonight Show 1963" and got this. It would be a delight if you had any audio recordings of Mort Sahl, who was on "The Tonight Show" with every host until his recent death.

What happened to her career after Hitchcock’s The Birds…….TV series in the sixties and seventies….were like a last resort or even an insult for actors back then….

That Hal Lipset guy was an odd guest. Bet he had a 1,000 stories he could tell about investigation, but he was a non-starter. Showed a few devices and that was it. Disappointing. Meanwhile, did Johnny say in the monologue that the Tonight Show Band didn't get paid?!! Wow ... cheap.

Do you really think the band didn't get paid? It's called "sarcastic humor" . That's what Johnny did. Absolutely, they were paid by NBC. Johnny was paid by NBC, Who produced the show. It baffles the mind that people like you actually take it seriously that the band didn't get paid. ....oof!

If Johnny didn't invite the comedian to the couch after the routine, then that meant he or she bombed and would probably never be seen on National TV again.
