Well, beyond everyone giving the Oscars undeserved credibility when they're an agenda based group of Union members who vote along narrative such as lifetime achievement and comeback stories, they wasn't nominated, nor by BAFTA or the Golden Globes or a single local film critics body. The problem was Tombstone wasn't released until Dec 25 1993, making it ineligible for the 93/94 awards, and too early for people to remember by late 94 into 95. Had it been released more into 94 or a bit earlier in 93, they probably at least get recognition. Plus, their performance has hit harder over time.

Hell nah, it’s hilarious lmao. Holliday is showing him what a fool he looks like. It’s only scary if you’re an American not used to guns, bc in real life, if the bad guy shot Doc right there, everyone in that bar would be ready to kill him. Yeah, Doc was insulting him, but he said not a single word. Most Americans accept that if you’ve set yourself up for a joke at your expense to the point where someone can make fun of you without speaking, you’ve got no one to blame but yourself.

This gun routine was actually created by actor Ben Cooper back in the 1950s. My grandfather. He was considered one of the fastest gun artists of his time. Clocked at 1/6 of a second during the filming of a movie scene in 1954. Expert Fast Draw. You can also see Sammy Davis Jr do this exact gun routine on Saturday Night Live. I actually watched my grandfather teaching Sammy how to do the routine. They were great friends. Sammy was incredibly good with a six gun and believe it or not, so is Jerry Lewis the comedian. My grandfather said that Jerry Lewis was probably one of the fastest he ever saw. That was quite a compliment coming from him. At that time the only person faster on the draw was Bob Mudson. Also great friends with my grandfather and even modified one of my grandfather's 1873 Army Colts to have an absolute hair trigger and you can damn near Blow The Wind hard enough to pull that hammer back! I inherited that gun a couple of years ago. It's now in a glass case where it should be. He used that gun and probably 20 movies plus dozens of TV episodes. When I first saw this movie I recognized the gun routine immediately and found out later that my grandfather was the gun coach for the movie. I had had no idea until after the movie came out. He and Val Kilmer both won What's called the Golden Boot Awards. Kind of like the Oscars for western movies.

One of the few things the movie completely changed. While Doc was a very well educated man and likely understood a great deal of Latin due to his medical background, Ringo was not. He was a life long gunslinger and cowboy, he definitely spoke no Latin, almost certainly didn't speak Spanish and there's no evidence that he could even read. He was the definition of a thug. They changed his character for the movie to make him more interesting. Good for entertainment but not so good for historical value. The other big one were the missing Earps. Wyatt was the 4th of 8 Brothers, and 5 of them played a large part in his life, not just Morgan and Virgil.

what does that mean ? huckleberry

@@tsuki8882 , it's a reference to a line later in the movie, doc Holliday says " I'm your huckleberry" as a way of telling Ringo he was willing to be the man to have a "showdown" with him instead of What Earp.
