Artists have managers. Bob Dylan once said “if I’m booked to play somewhere, I just play” Johnny had a manager. He got bookings. This one looks like a side room of a Holiday Inn playing to 40 people. But it was filmed for a reason. Just because no one gets it, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try

I have a copy of his show from the previous night in Minneapolis. If ANYONE has a copy of the Milwaukee show, I'd pay 1K for a copy. I was there, I remember it, you can't BS me with a substitute. Fuckin true rock n roller, as the man himself said, I only need to cough and it's rock n roll, RESPECT!! I myself have the same substance issues which I can't seem to beat but hey ho, R. I. P JOHNNY gone but never forgotten, this song is getting played at my funeral!!
@frankG335
2 жыл бұрын
Don't think about your funeral! Don't give up on yourself. You CAN BEAT THIS! GET HELP! I mean, maybe you have gotten help and it didn't stick, right? So get help again. And again. Until is sticks. Ask God to step in and take over. Not a religion or set of rules, but that which is bigger than all that. Whatever it takes. The withdrawals are pure suffering and it's been shown that it's more likely to stick if you're weaned off with medications to make then withdrawal nit so horrible. Because it's really the fear of withdrawal that keeps a person desperate. Can you find a program that weans you off with muscle relaxants and anxiety meds, etc? They're out there. And methadone takes care of withdrawal. Then you have to go through counseling and get to the bottom of why you self medicated in the first place. Please don't give up. You do belong here. You do matter! Alive, on this earth. I don't know if you're supposed to write, or help others in a similar situation, but keep notes as you go through it this time so you can use it in the future to help people, to understand, to do something creative. But please believe in yourself and be kind to yourself and stop judging yourself. We're all equally flawed, and this thing is really a cruel master. Please don't give up!

Are you kidding me. His eyes are hollow, ghastly expression, gaunt, he is totally strung out on coke and heroin as usual and it didn’t help him perform. For over a decade music was a punch in clock for money. If he could make more money cashiering a Walmart he would have, after about 1978. But music to him was a way to collect a thousand dollars for a few hours of work. Go to a studio, make an unlistenable album, collect a 20k advance. Get high, get high, get high, fall asleep under a tarp in an alley, pawning his guitar, stealing someone else’s guitar, another advance at an indie label…. A la Johnny thunders. What a life.
