Sometimes it just works that way, I had beat a bad rap in Wisconsin and saw the signs to a Grateful Dead Show, my mom was with me and I convinced her to go, so mom and I saw the dead by chance in 1989. It was Alpine Valley 7/17 or 7/18 - I'd be more precice but some kind kids shared their candy ;)

Johnny Winter is the quintessential iconic rock hero!!! I have been enchanted with him since the early 1970's when I was 13 years old!!! To this day no one has achieved a higher place in my heart!!! Love 💖 everything about him, voice, guitar style, appearance, his Southern Delta Blues style mixed with his own heavy rock guitar style!!! He has always been n always will be my idol!!!

I'm 65 grew up in the 60's and 70s just started getting into Hendrix before he died And Johnny Winter was my Guitar hero man you can listen to him and just drift away to another dimension of incredibly beautiful inner self vibrations ...Johnny was one of the greats it wasn't sturdy and repetition that made him great it was pure raw talent Johnny could compose on the spot like he was funnelling it in , tuning in and channelling, Like SRV, Hendrix, and a long time ago MR. bix beiderbecke fit that category... And now we live in a wonderful time of the WWW we can enjoy our Idols with a few keys being pressed ....for the moment I'm still alive and well. Kinda hard to tell ...lol...

On this day in 1964 {August 22nd} "Johnny B. Goode" by Dion entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart for a four week stay, peaking at #71... It was sandwiched between two Top 10 records by Dion; "Drip Drop" {peaked at #6 in 1963} and "Abraham, Martin, and John" {#4 in 1968}... Of course, the original was by Chuck Berry; his version reached #8 on Billboard's Top 100 chart in 1958 and #2 on Billboard's R&B Singles chart... In 1970 Johnny Winter took his covered version to #92 on the Top 100...
