Hey, I’m hoping you can direct me to some links for a piston and rings? I’ve got one piston down on compression and I’m having a hell of a time to find info for my 76’ 55hp.

Hi there. Crowleymarine.com commonly has these types of parts. That is where I get many of mine.

They were only temporary until I got my hands on some crimps and heat shrink. Just wanted to show the motor running!

the spring actually wraps AROUND the throttle linkage to put tension on them to snap them shut on the bottom. im also not convinced the choke springs are where they should be but id have to look at one of mine. great job cheers. people put the wrong flywheel key on and dont lap the tapers back together after they spin. if the tapers arent lapped, it will spin again.

Great job doing the clean up and getting it running..however, those electrical connectors are going to be the next owner's nightmare!! I've seen it on boat motors, bikes and all manner of things I've worked on over the years. Corrosion and vibration is going to have them causing untold electrical issues in the not too distant future. If I was looking to buy and popped the hood and saw it, I'd ask myself..what else did he shortcut on with this motor?? Everyone of them should be removed and the wiring be redone with soldered connections, shrink wrap and di-electric grease..just saying, if you're gonna do it, do it old school so it never has to be done again and take pride in it!! Plus most buyers will see the care and attention to detail and you'll make more money in the long run. You've got the skillz, just up your game a bit and go from average boat motor mechanic to GREAT boat motor mechanic!!! I hope you take this as the constructive criticism it was meant to be and not a troll!! Cheers...
