Fiddle tune performed by Eddie Stubbs and the Johnson Mountain Boys. This is from the 2/20/88 show in Lucketts, VA and is some of the best live bluegrass ever recorded.
WOW, that's some insane ferocious fiddling, and the bowing, words can't do justice.

As Eddie himself would say, "Are there any questions?...there better not be, but if so, give me a call & let's talk about it." (not his words, my words echoing his view on absolutely top shelf.!) He uses the above when he plays great cuts on his WSM show. Only once have I ever heard a JMB song on his show, & that was a request. A very humble man. We need more old school musicians/DJs like him, but they'd be hard pressed to beat Eddie & his talent/old country tastes/knowledge!

I love the note at 2:52. Even Eddie seems moved by his own playing. Thank you, sclawman! I heard this years ago. Floored. I never thought I'd be able to see it, too!

Eddie, it was a real pleasure meeting you briefly at the 2010 IBMA awards. A dream come true for me. And you were talking to Darrin Vincent, (I didn't realize that at the time) but after his performance he informed me they were looking for uptempo songs to record and so I wrote one for them the following day and pitched to the group already. It's called "GOD" TO LOVE IT". Anyhoo, hopefully our paths will cross again, it would be an honor SIR. Thanks for being you - inspirational

Nearly 12 years on, nearly 12 thousand of these views are more’n likely just from me. Still five idiots somewhere out there that gave this recording of this track a thumb down. Probably jealous of Ed, same way I am. But how bout that doghouse player just slappin out the beat that carried the song, the band, and my happiness clear through the whole damn thing. My goodness!!! It’s Wednesday night, do you know where your bass player is?!?! If he isn’t getting lessons from this guy, your whole outfit is doing it wrong.
